  • Christmas is fast approaching, but our team at the Helsinki office got a head start on preparations in mid-November by collecting Christmas calendars for Hope Yhdessä & Yhteisesti ry to be distributed to children and teenagers from underprivileged families. The initiative came from our caring Vincit employees, with our very own Vincit elf taking the calendars to be handed out to their new owners. 🧝🎄 A special thank you goes to Milsa Malin for organizing this heartwarming gesture and to Kristian Tikkanen for stepping in as our Vincit Christmas elf. The inspiring talks by Aapo Koski/61N, and Vincit's Timo H. left the audience with fresh ideas and sparked plenty of engaging discussions about the future of Azure and cloud technologies.   • Our Chief People Officer Mari Kuha was interviewed by Talouselämä about the pay transparency at Vincit. 💸 We have taken pay transparency beyond the EU Pay Transparency Directive already a long time ago. Most of our 700 employees reveal their pay data to their colleagues voluntarily. Once a year we organize pay weeks and open the pay data company-wide. It's of course everyone's own decision whether they want to show their pay data to others, and our employees can simply mark their decision in an HR system. During the awaited yearly pay weeks it's possible to also suggest a raise for a colleague or oneself, and we discuss together the pay data and the pay rise suggestions. Even if someone doesn't want to share their data, colleagues can still give a note if they wish the pay of their colleague to be revisited. The next salary weeks take place in January 2025. 👩💻 👨💻 Women in the tech industry represent the minority and during the pay weeks, we also communicate the gender-related pay data. There are no gaps here at Vincit as we have carefully taken into account that no such differences even start to occur between the genders. "The initiative to transparently share the pay information has come from the employees", says Mari. Mari also pinpoints that the transparency should start with the management or it's hard to speak about pay transparency at all. At Vincit, the pay range is also shared at the time of recruitment together with important cultural matters. "Many times the discussion about the topic starts with what the employers have to do in terms of pay transparency but I would like to turn this the other way around that wanting to openly share these kinds of things can be an attraction factor for the company. Being open about the pay data people have a clear understanding about pay ranges and what is the right pay in each position." ⚖️ The EU pay transparency directive is a set of measures to increase pay transparency proposed by the EU in 2023. Its aim is to combat pay discrimination and reduce gender pay gaps across Europe. Under the new rules, EU companies will be required to share information on salaries and take action if their gender pay gap exceeds 5%. The Directive came into effect at the EU level in June 2023. At Vincit, gender equality happens not only in salaries but also position-wise. We encourage women to take team leader roles and see an increasing number of women in leading positions.
