This year we showcased how our stainless steel is driving responsible growth: 🧩 The AVA footbridge design encapsulates the perks of modular design. ♻️ Alfa Laval shifting to Outokumpu Circle Green® leverages the circular economy to lower emissions. 💪The Stonecutters Bridge in Hong Kong (pictured) will withstand the test of time and a harsh marine environment thanks to the use of stainless steel. 🏆 Outokumpu Recognized for ESG Excellence 🏆 At the ESG Transparency Awards 2024, Outokumpu emerged as a Leading Company, scoring an impressive 87/100 in the Excellence class, reflecting their outstanding commitment to sustainability and transparency. This recognition during the European Sustainability Week further cements Outokumpu’s leadership in driving sustainable practices within the stainless steel industry. Heidi Peltonen, Vice President of Sustainability at Outokumpu, remarked, “We’re proud to achieve this milestone. Safety. Evolved. With the year coming to an end, we’re looking back at our favorite moments from 2024. During the summer, we introduced Jokkeri to the world. Our colleague, along with our other robots Rosie and Angie from ANYbotics, helps keep our teams on site safe. Using the latest technology is only one way we’ve managed to reduce work-related incidents by 17% from 2022 to 2023. One of the big headlines for Outokumpu in 2024 was getting ReponsibleSteel certification for our sites in Sweden, Germany, and Finland – including Tornio, pictured below. ✅ This third-party validation on the sustainability of our stainless steel cements our status as a sustainability leader in our industry.
