With the installation of 1,160 solar panels, we are proud to usher in the era of clean energy. On November 4, we officially switched on our clean energy generation system, marking a significant step toward KB's corporate goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030.
This new solar panel system will enable us to produce more than 40% of our annual electrical energy consumption. Over the life of the project, we expect to prevent the emission of 15,230 tons of CO2.
The system has the capacity to generate 1.06 gigawatts annually and consists of 860 panels installed on the roof of our warehouse, as well as 300 panels installed on the roofs of our cars in the parking lot.
Undoubtedly, KBRM is aligned with the sustainability goals that our parent company, KB, is aggressively pursuing.
During this exciting milestone, we were joined by representatives from Oficina Verde and the Ecology Department of the Municipality of Coahuila, as well as our executive Ed Whelan, VP of HSE and Quality at Knorr-Bremse Rail North America.
With this achievement, we have undoubtedly embarked on a new era—one focused on sustainability
