After our DILA Day event in Santiago and our participation in the Endeavor Retreat at Reserva Biológica Huilo Huilo, in the past couple of months, DILA was once again present in Chile. Joaquín Abal, our Head of Investments for the Southern Cone and the Andean Region, spoke alongside Madeleine Clavijo Verjel (Kushki) and Maria Cecilia Martinez Martabid (BICE Ventures) at #CumbreACVC2024 hosted by ACVC, and sponsored by IDB Lab, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Carey and nuam. What we’ve seen during the #CumbreACVC2024 comes with no surprise: Chile is one of the most developed ecosystems in the region. Following successful endeavors, second time-founders are launching new companies while relentlessly supporting a new generation of entrepreneurs, most family offices are becoming highly institutionalized and have a clear understanding of the asset class, and top local corporates are actively investing and developing well-structured processes to support companies through their CVCs. Moreover, government is leading strategic initiatives related to funding and liquidity through CORFO | Chilean Economic Development Agency, nuam and ScaleX, and associations like ACVC and Endeavor Chile are playing a central role brining all the parts together. At DILA, we’ve focused and allocated a lot of resources to consolidate our position in Chile (and will continue to do so) with one clear mission: develop a bridge between Chile, Mexico, and the rest of the region, and ultimately enable entrepreneurs to build and lead locally, and later on scale regionally and globally, with minimal friction. The event we organized together with our good friends of Tantauco Ventures was all about that. Happy to meet and reconnect with a lot of colleagues and friends during our event and the #CumbreACVC2024.
