UNOPS suppliers are a fundamental part of our delivery to support those most in need. It is only by working alongside them that we can positively contribute to bridging the implementation gap. That's why the The United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM) exists: a one-stop-shop for suppliers to the UN system. And now they have a new look and feel! Congratulations to the team, Niels Ramm and Bérénice Bessière for making this happen.

In Haiti’s northwest, fertile lands and underground water resources are vital for the country's economy and livelihoods. Yet, poor infrastructure, droughts, seismic events and socio-economic challenges have made the country one of the most food-insecure in the world. Today, over 5 million people face acute food insecurity, with rural communities most affected. With funding from The World Bank, UNOPS and the Ministry of Agriculture are tackling these challenges through the Emergency Resilient Agriculture for Food Security project. Together, we are driving change where it matters most: ✅ Supporting vulnerable communities to respond to and recover from crises ✅ Building climate resilience to protect livelihoods ✅ Advancing inclusive development for a better future As we head into the final meeting tomorrow, let's recognize that an ambitious #IDA21 replenishment will be a lifeline for a world in crisis.

This Monday I attended alongside other United Nations leaders and Ministers the #Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance Humanitarian Response in Gaza. 👉43,000 people killed (70% children and women), 100,000 injured, 1.9 million forcibly displaced people. 👉Homes, schools, hospitals, water infrastructure, roads, and food production facilities, have been destroyed. 👉Health services are on the verge of collapse. 👉High levels of acute food insecurity. Time to stop this humanitarian catastrophe: 1) Ceasefire; 2) Unconditional release of hostages; 2) Full respect of international humanitarian law; 3) Unimpeded and safe access of all aid to the population.
