As we step into 2025, let’s remember that sustainable living is not about massive overnight changes — it’s about small, consistent steps that lead to a better future. Each of these resolutions is a reminder of how small choices add up: - Ditching plastic bags isn’t just about convenience; it’s about protecting marine life and reducing the toxic load on our environment. - Using zero-waste containers teaches us to value what we have while reducing our dependence on disposable items. - Opting for ecofriendly recycled materials supports a circular economy, giving new life to waste and cutting down on resource extraction. - Carrying a reusable water bottle symbolizes a commitment to fighting single-use plastics, one sip at a time. - Repairing, upcycling and donating reflect the idea that everything has value — and waste isn’t waste until we waste it. These small steps may feel insignificant, but together, they create a wave of positive change. Sustainability starts with mindful choices, and the impact goes far beyond what we can see today. Let’s make every action count — because when we #DoYourBit, we’re shaping a more sustainable tomorrow. 🌍 Which one will you start with? #EcoBlue #sustainability #newyear #happynewyear #newyear2025 #seasonsgreetings #merrychristmas #newyearresolutions #recyclingmatters #sustainabilitygoals #zerowaste #reducereuserecycle

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧 The 𝐟𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 of the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 to advance a plastics treaty (#INC5) was meant to deliver what would be the final text of a future plastics treaty. The plastics treaty talks failed to reach an agreement by their Dec. 1 deadline, with deep divisions remaining among the 175 countries at the end of a weeklong negotiation session. Deep disputes over limiting production, regulating chemicals, and paying for the treaty proved too much to overcome. The Busan talks did not produce an agreement; however, the developments there show a path for a future deal. There are growing signs of alignment among a majority of nations that could be the basis of a future agreement. More than 100 member states united in insisting the treaty include concrete measures to cut plastic production and ban the toxic chemical building blocks that fuel this crisis. The momentum is with this coalition, even if the challenges are still daunting. The location and timing of the next #INC meeting remain undecided. This postponement comes just days after the turbulent conclusion of the 29th #UN Climate Change Conference (#COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. At COP29 Azerbaijan, countries pledged $300bn annually to address climate change. However, this plan fell far short of the $1.3 trillion requested by developing nations, which are disproportionately affected by the climate crisis. This delay comes with grim consequences for the people and the planet. We need to act fast to secure a treaty that addresses plastic pollution at its root, safeguards human rights, and protects future generations. #EcoBlue #PlasticPollution #GlobalTreaty #NoMoreDelays #INC5 #CircularEconomy #Collaboration #GlobalAction #PlasticTreaty #OceanConservation #Busan2024 UN Environment Programme

The fifth session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee to develop an international legally binding instrument on plastic pollution, including in the marine environment (INC-5), has begun today in Busan, Korea. The wheels were set in motion in 2022 for Global Plastics Treaty to end plastic pollution at every stage of its lifecycle. The treaty is being negotiated by 175 countries and is intended to: * 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱: Hold all countries to a high standard on plastic consumption * 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: Provide a global framework for countries to coordinate their efforts * 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Incentivize and support national actions to reduce plastic pollution * 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Provide support to countries, especially low and middle income countries, to implement the treaty * 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬: Engage communities that are most impacted, including indigenous peoples and informal workers * 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐬: Underline the connections between plastic pollution and biodiversity loss We hope that the nations can come to a consensus as urgent action at a global scale on plastic pollution is needed. #globalplasticstreaty #plasticpollution #sustainability

𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 @ 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 EcoBlue's Founder & CEO, Pranay Jain, recently participated at the Asia Polyolefin Symposium, Bangkok organized by Milliken Chemical He presented his thoughts on how '𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒚𝒄𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒚𝒛𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒇𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝑪𝒊𝒓𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓 𝑬𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒚'. Transition to Circular Economy is the only solution and recycling is key enabler in this journey. Even though plastics are essential material in the modern world, there are alarming concerns on its waste management, pollution and GHG emissions. He shared his insights on how recycling solutions have to be tailor made for different applications and polymers. Polyolefins form 46% of global polymer consumption, however, the recycling rates are much lower. This indicates that there is high potential for recycling. Pranay Jain shared his experiences about the enablers for polyolefin recycling - Design for recycling, Technology improvements for sorting, Improvement in waste collection and management infrastructure, Demand creation and Alternate economic models which can boost both the collection and recycling rates. Let’s be part of the solution, not the pollution! #sustainability #circulareconomy #recycling #recycledresins

We had the pleasure of hosting leading Thai media channel, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝟑 and HMC Polymers Company Limited at our plant facility yesterday as a part of the ongoing "Million Powers" project. This project is a first of its kind collaboration between multiple stake holders from the industry, where 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝟑 is running an awareness campaign amongst its audience to segregate plastic waste and send it for recycling. HMC Polymers Company Limited is promoting second life solutions for PP waste. With the support of 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐢 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 , we have already started receiving PP plastic waste from consumers at EcoBlue and have started recycling it! ♻️ We were elated to see Channel 3 team's keen interest in understanding the recycling process from end to end. They were quite impressed by the technology and processes followed at EcoBlue to make high quality recycled resins from dirty post-consumer waste. Their words of appreciation have been very encouraging for EcoBlue team, who is dedicated in its mission to work for Circular Economy and strives hard in their work. The recycled PP resin produced will be used by 𝐍𝐚𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 to manufacture their 𝑯𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒆 brand paint boxes. These boxes will be distributed to Thai Border Patrol school students, bringing "Million Powers" to their dreams. #CircularEconomy #sustainability #recycledresins #recycled PP

Our recent post on mass balance touched on the potential and challenges of this system. A recent article in The New York Times highlighted the concerns surrounding mass balance accounting, particularly in the plastics industry. While it aims to support recycling, critics argue it may mislead consumers about the actual recycled content in products.
