We connect a world of excess to a world of need by recovering quality edible surplus food to feed the needy in Ghana
About us
Food for All Africa is West Africa’s first and largest community food redistribution organization in Ghana. We implement a model called food banking. Retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, farmers and growers partner with us to recover their edible surplus food and distribute it responsibly to provide greater access to food for vulnerable groups across our country. Food drives are a really popular activity among individuals, families, communities and groups within the workplace it is all about having fun whilst getting involved in the fight against hunger! Food for All Africa has regularly-scheduled food drives throughout the year, but people are welcome to hold their own food drive at any time of the year. We welcome all types of non-perishable food products that everyone should have access to. Pillars of our Food Banking Model -Feeding the incapable of working -Creating opportunities for the capable of working -Reduce food waste -Sustainable investment Our Vision A Ghana without hunger. Our Mission To reduce hunger in Ghana by creating efficient and sustainable means of nutrition through food banking, diversity of long term social development, awareness, educational and feeding programs. In co-operation with credible, potential partners in all sectors (Individuals, official, volunteers, civil and private sectors) Our Value 1. Overcoming the great hunger issue in Ghana. 2. Specialization in providing the basic need for every human being: “FOOD”. 3. Continuity of giving to the needy. 4. Professionalism. WHY FOOD WASTE & HUNGER REDUCTION Each year about 1.3 billion tons of food is wasted and at the same time about 800 million people do not have access to sufficient and nutritious food (Global FoodBanking Network, 2014). This figure represents roughly one third of food produced for human consumption. Food can be either lost or wasted throughout the supply chain, from initial agricultural production down to final household consumption (FAO, 2011).

“You can’t tell a hungry child that you fed them yesterday.” School meals are vital in shaping the future of our next generation, and ensuring their success is a shared responsibility. Our Executive Director, Elijah Amoo Addo is currently in Osaka, Japan, participating in the 24th Global Child Nutrition Foundation Forum (Dec 9-12, 2024). This forum brings together public and private stakeholders to exchange ideas, share experiences, and find inspiration to build and expand high-quality school meal programs worldwide. At Food for All Africa , we’re proud to showcase our LunchBox School Feeding Initiative while learning innovative strategies for growth and expansion. Together, we can create a brighter future for every child. 🌍🍱 #EndHunger #SchoolMealsMatter #FoodForAllAfrica #GlobalNutrition #LunchBoxInitiative #GhanaToTheWorld #GCNF2024

Educating future generations on food banking is a powerful step toward reducing food waste, hunger, and poverty in Ghana. We're thrilled to have hosted students from Alpha Beta Christian College at our Ghana Agricultural Food Loss Recovery Warehouse in Shai Hills as part of their Adinkrahene Leadership Program industrial tour. The visit offered them hands-on experience with our operations, insights from the SDG Changemakers Series Book 2, and the chance to package and deliver food parcels to elderly beneficiaries in Doryumu township. The students shared their excitement and the valuable knowledge they gained during this impactful visit. Every little bit helps! #FoodBanking #EndHunger #ReduceFoodWaste #SDG2 #LeadershipDevelopment #Adinkrahene #Ghana

Supporting local food banks is a meaningful way to show care for our communities and uphold a shared social responsibility. We at Food for All Africa are truly grateful for the first-time donation of 3 tons of fresh Volta bananas to our beneficiary charities. Together, we are making healthy food choices accessible to society's most vulnerable. Let’s keep working towards #ZeroHungerGhana! #Food4AllGH #FoodBankingGH #PartnersThatWork
