The World Congress on Public Health (WCPH) is held biennially by the World Federation of Public Health Associations (WFPHA). The 18th World Congress on Public Health (WCPH 2026) is being organized in collaboration with the Public Health Association of South Africa (PHASA) and will occur in Cape Town in 2026. We expect over 2,000 delegates. This Congress is a premier international forum for exchanging knowledge and experiences on critical public health issues. It plays a crucial role in protecting and promoting sustainable and equitable public health at national and global levels. We hope to see you there!

Aotearoa New Zealand is a land of rich cultural heritage, and the Māori people hold a special place in its heart. Māori, New Zealand's indigenous population represent almost 18% of the population and very often face disparate health outcomes compared to anyone else. At Roche, we are committed to better understanding the environment we operate in to serve all people in Aotearoa. This year, as part of our ongoing cultural journey, our Roche New Zealand team came together for a workshop at the award-winning Te Māhurehure Cultural Marae. Māori see their marae as their tūrangawaewae - their place to stand and belong. Marae are used for hui (meetings), āhuareka (celebrations), tangi (funerals), educational workshops and other important tribal events. We are deeply grateful to the Te Māhurehure Cultural Marae Society for allowing us to experience their remarkable space. It was another invaluable opportunity to connect, learn, and reflect. Our learning journey was further enriched by the presence of Adrian Te Patu, who currently represents New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region on the governing council of the World Federation of Public Health Associations. Additionally, he chairs the Indigenous Working Group of the Council. His insights and perspectives were instrumental in deepening our understanding and commitment to health equity in NZ. A heartfelt thank you also goes to Atene Andrews for all his leadership and guidance as our Chief Māori Advisor at Roche. His wisdom and direction are vital to our journey. We acknowledge that this is a long-term commitment, and as such, we are dedicated to continually learning and embracing diversity to better serve our population.
