Really proud of our Sucafina Instant colleagues for their continued (and warm ☕) support to Crisis UK 🧡
Amid the darkness of winter, Crisis – a UK charity dedicated to ending homelessness – brings hope and vital support to those in need. Their work helps people rebuild their lives and advocate for systemic change to solve homelessness. 🙌 What a noble cause, and our UK team has a long-standing relationship with the charity. We’re delighted to contribute once again by donating coffee ☕ that will provide 150,000 cups of warmth and comfort to people facing homelessness and rough sleeping this December. Together, we’re creating opportunities to improve lives.

On November 13, we had the privilege of hosting the "Change in Motion" event, in collaboration with Seeds for Progress Foundation, Macquarie Group and Fondation Kahawatu (Suisse). The event was dedicated to celebrating and advancing education within Guatemala’s coffee communities and the atmosphere was buzzing with purpose, dedication, and shared values! ✨ As part of Sucafina’s commitment to creating opportunities to improve lives, we are excited to report that, thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised a total of US $213,875 (not inclusive of anticipated additional donation matching from Macquarie Group Foundation) which will be used to enhance education and benefit children, teachers, and entire communities in Guatemala. 🎒 #sustainability #supportingeducation #guatemalancoffee #creatingopportunitiestoimprovelives #sharedvalues 📷 Philotee Mukiza (Kahawatu Foundation), Nicolas A. As part of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) campaign, our colleagues at COTACOF (Sucafina in Tanzania) recently conducted a comprehensive campaign, which included training sessions on GBV. This initiative has significantly raised awareness among our team members, aligning with our purpose of creating opportunities to improve lives and reaffirming our commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. 💪 Great job team! #creatingopportunitiestoimprovelives #teamgoals #empowerwomen #genderequality

Happy #WorldSoilDay 🌱
Happy #WorldSoilDay 🌱 Protecting and improving soil health is vital for boosting coffee yields and resilience. Healthy soils are the foundation of sustainable agricultural production. Unlike depleted and unhealthy soils, they perform valuable ecosystem services and have a direct positive impact on farmers’ livelihoods. As part of our IMPACT Goal of promoting regenerative agriculture, our teams at Origin are implementing various projects to help farmers improve soil fertility. Join us in congratulating Léa Dupraz, this year’s winner of the Sucafina Prize of Excellence for the best thesis on the Geneva School of Economics and Management - UNIGE Master in Commodity Trading program. 🎓 Léa, a Sustainability Analyst at Walter Matter, received the award from Nicolas A. Tamari, CEO of Sucafina, during the students' graduation ceremony in Geneva last week. “Léa’s thesis delivers an outstanding analysis of the EU Deforestation Regulation – a critical issue for many sectors, including the coffee industry. Her exploration of the compliance challenges and implications for the coffee trade, with a particular focus on Ethiopia, is both timely and insightful,” said Nicolas A. Tamari. Congratulations to Léa and all the other graduates, including our very own Jamie White, Sales Trader at Sucafina. Wishing you every success for the future! ⭐ #GSEM #coffeenews #commoditytrading

Gender-based violence (GBV) remains a pervasive issue worldwide, and in coffee-growing regions – where #women carry out as much as 70% of physical labor on farms yet often face marginalization – the need for action to address the root causes of gender inequality and GBV is critical. This International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we want to reinforce our commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment 💪 through our #CaringforPeople sustainability pillar and our #IMPACT Program. To do so, in 2023 we developed a comprehensive gender strategy focusing on: ♀ Gender mainstreaming: ensuring all of our programs and projects are gender inclusive and gender responsive. ♀ Gender transformation: addressing social norms and promoting positive attitudes towards gender equality. ♀ Women’s economic empowerment: supporting women’s development to boost income and improve livelihoods.
