The Barcoe Studio transforms with Neumann and Merging equipment 🙌 The new facility is been designed and built for the purposes of video content creation for music artists, live music production and recording, video, and audio editing. Merging Technologies Anubis is the main hub for routing and control, utilising an AES67 network. Only then could the process of aligning the loudspeakers to the room be completed and checked using the MA 1 before playback and listening could take place 🤝 The meticulous approach to the studio's acoustic design was matched by the deliberate choice of equipment. To this end, Georg Neumann GmbH was the go-to partner. With their expertise, the studio sculpted a control room that is not just a centerpiece but an engineer's dream. It is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 setup, with aspirations to expand to a 9.1.6 configuration. Dear Merging community, colleagues, former employees, customers and partners, As you can imagine, these end-of-year greetings are very special for me. In a few weeks' time, I will be stepping down after close to thirty-five years as CEO & President of Merging Technologies. None of that would have been possible without the support of my wife Teresa who will accompany in a shared retirement at the end of this year. Before anything, I want to thank you all for all we have achieved together. I am particularly proud, that at the time of my departure, the Merging team is more phenomenal than it has ever been, with a magic blend of wiser men and women but also a lot of fresh blood in all sectors. So, 2025 is shaping up to be a year full of new adventures, and I look forward to my beloved team to be writing this new chapter with you. Being part of Georg Neumann GmbH, within the Sennheiser Group, allows us, now that the machinery starts to be in place, to progress far deeper than we could ever have imagined going with our own forces while further renewing our commitment to quality at every stage of our processes. I am sure these achievements will continue under the reins of Renato Pellegrini, my successor and extend a warm welcome to Fabienne Baudet, as our new site manager on January 1st, 2025. To both, I send my best wishes for success. Those who know me well, know that after enjoying some fresh powder snow and being finally able to spend more quality time with my family, I might get on some other adventure so there will be other opportunities to see you again, and I hope there will be many. Producing award-winning gaming sound with Pyramix and Anubis 🕹️ Vladislav Isaev is the chief sound designer at Redhill Games and recently won the Game Audio Network Guild Award for Best Sound for the free online game Diablo Immortal! Isaev's role as a sound designer in the video game industry is both demanding and intricate, requiring precise sound quality, multichannel mixing, and real-time optimisation across multiple audio sources. With his latest project, Diablo Immortal, his goal was to seamlessly integrate high-quality sound production with minimal latency, all while maintaining audio fidelity across complex setups. To combat these challenges, Vladislav turned to Merging Technologies. He combined Pyramix, Anubis, and VCube video player. Connected via an ethernet network with the RAVENNA/AES67 protocol, Isaev could mix, monitor, and optimise sound assets with precision. Lawo and Merging Technologies team up to transform the Musiikkitalo in Helsinki 🇫🇮 The Musiikkitalo music center is home to two orchestras: Yle's Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. Its IP infrastructure makes any signal source available anywhere. The Main Hall is used two to three times a week for live radio and TV broadcasts and streaming, for which up to three mc²56-equipped control rooms are used. Up to 100 events per month are staged at Musiikkitalo's various venues: classical, jazz, pop, and rock music performances, talk shows, corporate events, film screenings, different kinds of art performances, circus, dance, opera, and more! The Helsinki Philharmonic orchestra wished to keep using its Merging Technologies equipment (Horus, Hapi and Anubis as well as Pyramix software), Lawo and Merging Technologies collaborated on making these solutions »HOME native«, making Musiikkitalo a landmark project for HOME management platform! As a result, the Merging devices can now conveniently be patched and tweaked from any of the three mc² audio mixing consoles. Of course, Musiikkitalo also uses other Lawo solutions and has even developed an intuitive way to assign its four DAWs to any mixing console at the press of a button. Behind the scenes of Fanny and Alexander at La Monnaie. The most "advanced" production probably ever staged here. 🎭 This production features the theater's largest (moving) LED wall, powered by Disguise media servers for playback of live and pre-recorded video material. The audio setup is equally impressive. An “enlarged” Lawo MC56 handles orchestra, sound effects, and wireless microphones (Shure Incorporated Axient), with two operators utilizing all 1024 audio channels available! Surround sound is delivered by around 70 d&b audiotechnik speakers, including e8s throughout the audience and dome, plus J-infra for ultra low bass. A main and backup Ableton Live providing sound effects for playout and real time synths with Merging Technologies virtual sound cards. It’s all tied together by our brand-new Arista Networks, running ST2110, AES67, RAVENNA Network, and Dante protocols all together, providing unparalleled connectivity and flexibility.
