Celebrating International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDoPWD) 2024 🌟 CARE Nigeria, with funding from the USAID - Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA), joined partners and stakeholders in Yobe State to honor the resilience and rights of persons with disabilities. This year’s celebration reflected CARE’s unwavering commitment to gender and diversity inclusion, aligning with our 2030 Strategic Objectives of fostering equity, resilience, and gender justice. 🎁 CARE marked the occasion by distributing 100 dignity kits to vulnerable women and adolescent girls with disabilities. This initiative aimed to enhance their dignity and well-being, addressing hygiene challenges they face daily. In the words of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities Chairman, Yobe State: “It is indeed a happy day for people facing various disability challenges. CARE has uplifted the dignity of women and girls with disabilities… The joy on their faces is evidence of the smiles you’ve brought.” The group appreciated CARE and its donors for their unwavering support, effective community engagement, and inclusiveness, which reflects our dedication to addressing social injustice and uplifting vulnerable groups. We remain committed to creating a world where no one is left behind. #16Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence 🧡 Kwami Maina, GBV Coordinator at #CARE Nigeria reminds us that "Tracing the root of GBV means delving deeper than the surface.
