We’re proud to see ConcreteAI's solution featured on The Straits Times alongside the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Singapore’s projects! 👏 ConcreteAI is an alumnus of The GEAR's Startup Residency Programme and startup under our Community Access Programme network (more information at https://lnkd.in/eXuhfqXV). Their solution uses proven techniques to precisely monitor the strength and temperature of in-situ concrete. 🧱 This enhances productivity, ensures better quality control, and reduces embodied carbon by optimising material use. 📹 Watch and learn more about the process here: https://lnkd.in/gztQDBEg #TheGEARbyKajima #TheGEAROpenInnovationHub #TheGEAR #Kajima #ConcreteAI #Innovation #Collaboration
We’re excited to see ConcreteAI's solution being featured in The Straits Times last Friday alongside LTA’s projects, where our technology is used to "save about seven man-hours for each viaduct segment". (For context, a viaduct segment is a prefabricated piece of a bridge or road that is assembled to form the complete structure.) By leveraging proven methods and standards, ConcreteAI's solution enables the construction industry to measure in-situ concrete strength and temperature development with precision. This means increased productivity, enhanced quality assurance, and reduced embodied carbon through smarter material usage. Together, we’re advancing practical, efficient, and sustainable innovation in construction. Green buildings are more than just structures; they are living systems designed to optimise energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and environmental sustainability. This afternoon, close to 40 Green Mark Professionals joined us on a #SGBC Learning Journey to The GEAR, made possible by SGBC Founding Members Kajima and Singapore Polytechnic to explore the frontiers of smart buildings. Using The GEAR building as a case study, we delved into how these technologies can help create environments that adapt to occupant needs in real-time, enhancing comfort, efficiency, and overall wellbeing. Our #GMPs visited the following facilities on The GEAR’s premises during the enlightening session: ✅ Construction Robotics Lab - conducts research of new construction methods with robots and used to test utilisation of drones at construction sites. ✅ Urban Space Creation Display - showcases research revolving around sustainable materials and advanced sensing technologies for building and infrastructure projects. ✅ Digital Tech Lab - conducts research for occupant wellbeing, energy efficiency, carbon neutralisation and smart facilities management using digital data and robotics. ✅ K/Park - a modular space that is naturally ventilated with flexible configurations for different conditions. SGBC will continue to organise more visits to exemplary implementations of green building design and technology, powered by the expertise of our Membership community. #GreenBuilding #Sustainability #LearningJourney

We're glad to present the inaugural Kajima Book Prize in Innovation to our 2 winners at the SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship End-of-Year Campus #Bash last Friday! The Kajima Book Prize in #Innovation celebrates the spirit of ingenuity and the courage to push boundaries—values central to Kajima Corporation. We're proud to present two exceptional individuals awardees who have excelled through creative problem-solving and perseverance. They inspire us all with their commitment to innovation and resilience! First, James Tee from SMU School of Computing and Information Systems! He participated in the SMU Global Innovation Immersion by IIE as an intern in Thailand in 2022. He was the Vice President of SMU Product Club, spearheading the Product Management Experience curriculum which has since expanded to the NUS and NTU Product Clubs too! And Daniel Soh, a SMU School of Accountancy fresh graduate, and founder of Feel Fresh Pte. Ltd. He was successfully accepted into the SMU Business Innovations Generator by IIE Jan '24 cohort! His takeaway from his entrepreneurial pursuits? “To me, resilience is not about avoiding failure, but rather about learning to navigate through it and coming out stronger. It's crucial to keep pushing forward, even when things don't go your way as there are many learning opportunities in especially the toughest of challenges.” We sincerely thank Kajima Corporations for sponsoring the prize and our esteemed judges - Prof Sun Sun Lim, Luke Wu, Prof Kenneth Goh, Ph.D, Benjamin Twoon and Randy Tan for their invaluable time and efforts during the interview process! Your expertise and insights were instrumental in recognising and celebrating the spirit of innovation and resilience. 🙏✨ Koh Foo Hau Yasi Huo Nurul Asyiqin Shaharudin Christina Thung Singapore Management University

Recently, we supported the Japan Association for Smart Cities in ASEAN (JASCA), an affiliated organisation of the Japanese government’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in organising the JASCA-JTC Seminar & Business Matching 2024 event in Singapore with JTC Corporation, a statutory board under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. We visited one of JTC’s latest smart city projects, the #PunggolDigitalDistrict, and the Seminar & Business Matching took place at The GEAR. JASCA’s goals include fostering smart city relationships within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and facilitating the introduction and export of cutting-edge Japanese technology. This particular event was designed to spark collaboration and knowledge exchange, providing a platform for Japanese and Singaporean companies to connect and thrive together. The dynamism and dedication displayed by both Japan and Singapore in advancing smart cities and sustainable urban solutions are truly inspiring. This event was a testament to this commitment, showcasing the innovative projects and technical solutions from Japanese and Singaporean entities across the public and private sectors.
