  • Every connection we make serves to build a more inclusive and caring society 🌟 Meet Edwin Tay, 46, who has been a befriender for about five years now. He shared: “I’ve forged a special bond with my buddy, Javier, and I hope to continue making an impact in the lives of youths with disabilities. I believe everyone can play a part in fostering an inclusive community by showing more care and empathy towards persons on the autism spectrum in our daily lives.” Through collective efforts of individuals like Edwin, we’re building a stronger network of support and meaningful connections for youths with disabilities. • After a memorable 2024, we’re energised and excited to kickstart another truly wild and wonderful year. Our Staff Day 2024, themed "What a WILD Year," perfectly captured the spirit of our collective achievements and the challenges we’ve overcome. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 750 staff gathered for a day filled with fun and celebration as we honoured the resilience and dedication of our team. From recognising staff members through our Long Service Awards, President’s Award and EIT awards to enjoying live performances by our talented colleagues and marvelling at creative costume displays (hello 🪳 ‘Wild Roach’ and 🐛 ‘Caterpillar’), the event was truly unforgettable! As we charge into this new year, we'll continue to carry the hope, courage, and grounding that has kept us going, continuing to build an inclusive, empowering community where everyone thrives. Here’s to new adventures and endless possibilities! 🌈✨

✨𝟮 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 ✨ 2024 was a pivotal  year for us at Rainbow Centre as we rose to address the rapidly changing demands of the social services and special education sector. To uplift our staff and attract new talent, we launched the RC Thrive Initiatives in March 2024 to tackle challenges like job attrition rates and burnout. Funded by a Courage budget, we rolled out a slew of initiatives to improve our rewards and recognition, foster a supportive and growth-oriented culture, and enhance the overall well-being of our staff. We’re proud to share that these efforts have led to a commendable reduction in our attrition rate and welcomed over 160 new team members this year. As we gear up for our next strategic cycle, we’re excited to continue growing our staff to enhance the quality of our services and do better for those under our care. If you share our passion for making a difference, we’d love to have you on board! Come join our dedicated team! 🤩

  • ✨𝟯 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 ✨ With the new year just around the corner, we look forward to another year of supporting persons with disabilities, while also recognising the critical path that lies ahead. With the growing demand for post-18 services, it’s more urgent than ever to explore person-centred solutions for our graduates, particularly those with moderate to higher support needs who face significant barriers as they struggle to find services tailored to their unique needs. Together, we can strengthen support for these individuals, empowering them to thrive in their communities and lead fulfilling, meaningful lives. • ✨ 𝟱 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 ✨ As we are counting down to the exciting new year, here’s a big high five to everyone who has supported our mission to build Good Lives! ✋🏽 Supporting low resource families is one of the three key areas RC raises funds annually for, ensuring that no child is left behind so that together we thrive. At RC, about 40% of our students are on financial assistance. With your donations, we support them and their families to access services and opportunities, including covering programme and transport fees, enabling access to assistive technology devices, and offering emergency/crisis support when they need it most. Let’s end the year with a bang! Together, we can help bridge the divide for disadvantaged children with disabilities and uplift families. 💛 Your generous donation makes a difference! 💥 𝗗𝗼 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: Donate to Rainbow Centre and qualify for a 250% tax deduction on your donation. • "Being a befriender is not just about helping someone else, it’s about discovering how much we can learn and grow together. Through this journey, I've gained new perspectives and have seen how impactful a friendship can be in building understanding and inclusion. It’s an incredible opportunity to make an impact while having fun!” – Yannie Soo, Good Life Befriender, at our recent event, shared some of her thoughts at our recent A Very Good Christmas Party 🎄⛄️ The Good Life Befrienders Programme pairs passionate volunteers with youths with disabilities based on shared interests and hobbies. This serves to foster deeper connections through a budding new friendship. With the #GoodLifeBefrienders Programme, volunteers will also receive comprehensive, hands-on training to equip them with the right skills during their interactions with our youths. Let’s build a more inclusive society where friendships forge stronger communities, inspire understanding, and create lasting impact.
