Taking a moment to pause, reflect, and show my appreciation as the year draws to a close. Along with this post is a highlight video that celebrates the remarkable accolades that the Income Insurance team has attained this year. These awards represent just a fraction of the whole story that are made possible by the unwavering support and trust of our customers, partners, and employees. Over the years, Income Insurance has evolved alongside the nation, consistently putting people first by serving the protection, savings and investment needs of individuals, families, and businesses. Through purposeful innovations that leverage customer insights and market trends, we continue to address protection gaps, tackling pain points and responding to the evolving needs of our customers. For instance, this year, we launched the industry-first ‘Post-departure Purchase’ feature, which allows travellers to buy Income Insurance’s travel insurance online up to a day after they have departed from Singapore. Our eDrivo, our electric vehicle (EV) insurance, addresses ‘range anxiety’ with a 24/7 emergency mobile rescue service. To offer our customers greater flexibility while growing wealth, we introduced Invest Flex Vantage, an investment-linked plan that helps to maximise their investment potential. In our ongoing efforts as an employer, we are fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace. This year, we introduced Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) that prioritises employees’ mental well-being. The EAP provides resources like confidential counselling sessions and meditation guides. Additionally, we updated our guidelines to better support a hybrid work environment and grant more flexible work arrangements. On the community front, the Income Eco Run (IER) 2024 brought together nearly 5,000 participants and raised $60,000 for @Singapore Environmental Council in support of the Singapore Green Plan 2030. The IER exemplifies our commitment to championing a zero-waste lifestyle and rallying others to come together and build a cleaner, greener future for all. In July, we launched the Income Insurance Athletics Development Fund in partnership with @Singapore Athletics Association. Through this partnership, Income Insurance will invest S$500,000 over five years to nurture homegrown athletic talent, which will go towards funding overseas training and competitions in preparation for the SEA Games in 2029. Each of these initiatives reflects our collective drive to build a company that inspires trust and creates lasting value. To everyone who has walked this journey with us—thank you for your enduring confidence in us, and for being a part of Income Insurance’s story. As our journey continues, 2025 marks the 55th anniversary of Income Insurance. Together, let us work towards building a sustainable future for all. Let the year of celebration begin! #IncomeMadeYours #PeopleFirst #YearEndMessage

  • "Don’t fear death, fear not living." – Rong Liang   Rong Liang, a local filmmaker, passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 38 in 2023. But his story did not end there. He had always wanted to direct his own film and while undergoing treatment, he started to work on his very first film of his own, "A Busman's Holiday" which he starred in – with the determination to complete it despite his illness. His unfortunate passing brought his film to a halt, but his story was eventually completed in 2024 with the heartwarming support from close industry peers and Income Insurance. Recently, it was screened at the Singapore International Film Festival, fulfilling another of Rong Liang's wishes.   After Rong Liang's cancer diagnosis, he became a passionate advocate for the importance of insurance, especially amongst younger people. He often spoke about how essential it was to be prepared for unexpected challenges in life. His story and film have been inspirational in raising awareness of the importance of insurance in providing a safety net in the event of unfortunate circumstances such as critical illnesses.   Rong Liang is the son of senior model and influencer Bee Yan Ong who started Fashion for Cancer. She was recently in studios with Melanie Oliveiro from CNA938, alongside founder of Atypical films and friend, Desmond Tan and collaborator and friend, Doug Farndale to share about Rong Liang's creative journey and resilience despite the challenges.   As an insurer, we are glad to be part of this meaningful partnership to complete Rong Liang’s story – a reflection of his resilience, creative journey and determination to live life to the fullest.   Listen to the full interview here and remember to follow us for more buzz! https://lnkd.in/gXzSKi4E   Watch Rong Liang's film here: https://lnkd.in/gt27Hw87

  • Thank you to all our employees who turned up for our final Lunch & Learn session of 2024! Organised throughout the year, our Lunch & Learn sessions encourage knowledge sharing and provide employees the opportunity to learn about a range of topics from various industry experts in their respective fields. In our recent session, we touched on the topic of Smart Investing, where we invited Mr Cheng Chuan Loo, founder of the 1M65 movement, as well as Huay Ling Seow and David Ho from Income Insurance’s Investment team to share investment tips and key insights to what they do. 💡 Hear are some key takeaways from the session: 1. Have a diversified portfolio. Spread your investments over different channels, asset classes, countries etc. according to your risk appetite. You can either customise your own portfolio or invest in multi-asset funds which provide wide-ranging investment exposures, depending on your investment goals (e.g. wealth accumulation vs. regular dividend payouts). 2. Conduct thorough research of what you choose to invest in and review your portfolio periodically, taking into account your changing needs over time. It is always good practice to consult or do regular reviews with your financial advisor who can help you with holistic financial planning. You may choose to select from the suite of Investment-Linked Plan (ILP) funds which are carefully curated by investment teams. At Income Insurance, we leverage internal research and due diligence capabilities in the fund selection process, as well as conduct ongoing reviews so that the suite can continue to be relevant and deliver returns over the long-term horizon. 3. Don’t underestimate the power of compounding interest. Tap on the various financial platforms available including the Central Provident Fund (CPF). While many people may view CPF as a “retirement” tool, Mr Loo encourages everyone to view it as an investment tool instead. Thank you again to our guest speakers for their nuggets of wisdom! Check out the event photos below and follow us on LinkedIn for more buzz. 🙌🏻

  • We are proud to share another win as we wrap up the year! Congratulations to our Marketing team and creative agency partner BBH Asia Pacific (Singapore) for their wins last week at the MMA Global SMARTIES Awards. 🙌🏻 This global award recognises leaders, brands, agencies, and tech providers that use technology to pioneer new approaches in modern marketing. 🥇 Once again, our "TRAPPED" campaign, a short film on the horrors of being trapped in a sub-par hotel after contracting Covid-19, won the GOLD award for the "Short or Long Form Video" category. This category recognises campaigns that leverage captivating video content and creative storytelling to effectively engage customers, drive business growth, and enhance brand identity. Going beyond traditional marketing, “TRAPPED” was a refreshing campaign using a horror film to showcase the scary outcomes of travelling without adequate Covid-19 insurance coverage. Watch "TRAPPED" here: https://lnkd.in/gcCVsrTW 🥈 "Fallin' Apart", a music video crafted in collaboration with famed international band, The Calling, was also awarded the SILVER award for "Social Impact Marketing" category. This category highlights campaigns that drive social impact, positive shifts in societal attitudes, and make a meaningful difference. Using music as the creative platform and also rallying members of the public to submit their own renditions of “'Fallin' Apart”, we were able to start conversations and encourage more people to proactively assess their protection gaps and better plan for their future. Hear "Falling' Apart" here: https://lnkd.in/gf4iwaYD We are humbled to be awarded for our creative efforts in pushing boundaries in marketing but beyond that, the opportunity to drive purposeful innovation, better connect with our customers and effectively address protection gaps.

  • We are proud to share that we have won the "Southeast Asia Brand of the Year" at the Campaign Agency of the Year awards! 🥇 The Campaign awards recognise inspiring leadership, business performance, and overall achievements in advertising and brand communications. Awarded for our strategic approach as a brand, we leaned into our core value of "Putting People First" to combine our purpose and social mission with first-in-market product innovations and creative communications. This has allowed us to effectively address real protection gaps while achieving strong business growth. Some of our breakthrough campaigns include "Fallin' Apart", a music video/song with The Calling and Max – the human stress ball, a campaign which helped Singaporeans alleviate their financial worries in a humorous clutter-breaking way. Together with our agency partner BBH Asia Pacific (Singapore), we were also awarded the Southeast Asia AD Campaign of the Year (Silver) for our "TRAPPED" campaign. 🥳 Tapping on 2023 as the year of "revenge travel" after Covid restrictions were lifted in 2022, the team saw the opportunity to creatively remind travellers that contracting Covid can still be a nightmare, alluding to the importance of travel insurance. Directed by renowned local director, Kelvin Tong, “TRAPPED” was a short horror film that depicted the horrors of being trapped in a sub-par hotel after a couple contracts Covid. This omnichannel campaign also saw the launch of an escape room experience inspired by the film's narrative and street interviews of real-life travel horror stories. • November was an exciting month as we held our very first Festive Regifting Bazaar which brought together more than 500 employees and financial consultants to learn about sustainable practices in a fun and engaging way! As part of our ongoing efforts to drive a zero-waste culture, participants had the opportunity to "Play, Pledge and Practice" through an array of fun activities, from upcycling workshops, inspirational talks, eco board games, sustainability quizzes, to an eco claw machine. A key highlight was the Regift store in collaboration with Cloop, which encouraged participants to bring home good quality pre-loved items instead of buying brand new items. There were more than 3,000 pre-loved items featured, including 1,000 items donated by employees in an earlier donation drive. Everyone's journey towards a sustainable lifestyle can vary, but every action counts towards making a difference. Thank you for supporting zero waste and a sustainable lifestyle. Let’s achieve more together! #ZeroWaste #SustainabilityMadeYours
