IEEE PES Madhya Pradesh Chapter recently conducted a Membership Drive at Jabalpur Engineering College at National Conference on Power System Planning: Emerging Trends and Technologies PSPETT-24, 18th Dec 2024. It was wonderful to interact with the faculty and students of the Electrical Engineering Department and other scholars participating in the conference. I had not realized that we have many talents in Aartech Solonics Limited such as Shailu Chouhan and Prahlad Kumar Rahul belong to this institution and they are still in great touch with their alma mater, super excited to give so many references to meet during my visit ! It was also an eye opener to me that Jabalpur Engineering College was established before India's independence and so many of the highly accomplished power sector professionals especially in the utility sector in Madhya Pradesh come from this institute. Many thanks to the institute for their warm hospitality and Pradeepti Lakra, Asst Professor at JEC and Deputy Secretary at IEEE PES Chapter Madhya Pradesh Section for coordinating this engagement. The visit also opened up some internship / job opportunities for some of the bright talents I met there as well. The aspirational talent that one finds in Tier-2, Tier-3 cities and towns with fire in their belly and a keen desire to hustle is something else altogether. IEEE Power & Energy Society
