🎉 Congratulations to our colleagues in the EUROGI Women in Geospatial - Italian Chapter for organizing a successful focus group during the ASITA conference in Padua on December 11th! 👏 As part of this event, they hosted a special session for the "I would like an app for..." award. Finalists presented innovative app concepts leveraging geospatial data to enhance women's personal and professional lives. 🌍📱 One of the most discussed and critical themes was Safety, reflecting its importance in today’s landscape. There were four awards presented for standout proposals. 🏆 In addition, they launched a survey to capture the audience’s perspective on key issues. The most voted theme? The pressing need for Work / Family balance plans in the workplace. 💼👨👩👧👦 A huge congratulations to Monica Sebillo and the WiG Italian Chapter for organizing such a successful event 👏 #WomenInGeospatial #ASITA2024 #GeospatialTechnology #Innovation #WorkLifeBalance

"I’d like an app for..."—these words inspired the award established by the Italian chapter of EUROGI to encourage the development of innovative ideas capable of transforming society, tackling challenges, and improving people’s lives. 🏆In the 2024 edition, the award went to Francesca Matrone, a researcher from the #DIATI department, for her idea of an app that enhances women's safety, even in indoor environments that are usually difficult to track via GPS, such as subways, parking lots, or underground spaces. 🏅Recognition was also given to Elisabetta Colucci from the #DAD department for her idea of a map showcasing support services available in the area for homeless women. 🌍 Love geographic information and its transformative potential? Como parte de la Conferencia ASITA 2024, programada en Padua del 9 al 13 de diciembre, hoy miércoles 11 se dedicará a la promoción del Capítulo Italiano del EUROGI’s Women in Geospatial Groups. Se han planificado varias iniciativas, incluyendo una sesión especial en la que se presentarán las propuestas que han superado la primera fase de selección para el premio "I would like an app for...", y se otorgará el premio al ganador. Será posible compartir los objetivos del Manifiesto WIG, expuesto en el ágora, añadiendo un comentario y participando en una encuesta abierta durante todo el día, cuyos resultados se compartirán con los otros capítulos europeos de WIG. Se proyectarán cortos videos recopilados por WIG en diversos campos profesionales, y finalmente se proyectará un monólogo interpretado por la escritora Gabriella Greison titulado "Sei donne che hanno cambiato il mondo (Seis mujeres que han cambiado el mundo)".
