ERTICO Chairman Dr Angelos Amditis highlights some key achievements in his end-year summary: from the relocation to out new office and the warm welcome of new colleagues, Supervisory Board members, and Partners, to the expansion of an impressive portfolio of projects and platforms. In our mission to advance smarter, safer and more sustainable mobility, ERTICO - ITS Europe and its Partnership have been part of a record 34 EU-funded projects this year. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved and a special thanks to our Innovation & Deployment team for their dedication, hard work and commitment to drive the success of all activities! As we saw the culmination of the European projects in Horizon 2020 Programme by successfully completing almost all the projects under this framework, they have now delivered results that will live on through other projects or real-life implementation including #5GMETA, WeTransform Project, #SOLUTIONSpLus, eCharge4Drivers and SHOW 👏 Next year, we can look forward to the conclusion of 11 projects: FAME (Connected Automated Driving in Europe), GUIDE, IN2CCAM, LeMesurier Project, NAPCORE, NextETRUCK, PoDIUM Project, PRIVATEER 6GSNS, SINFONICA Project, CCAM SUNRISE project and V4SAFETY project. Projects launched a year ago have also started to deliver results moving beyond the stage of finalising specifications and methodologies: eBRT2030 project, deployEMDS, PLOTO project, REALLOCATE project, STREnGth_M and the SUM Project. This year, we also started working on 12 new projects, taking a coordination role in seven of them: 3DXVERSE, CulturalRoad Project, ENVELOPE Project, EvoRoads Project, FRODDO EU Project, InclusiveSpaces, JULIA Project, metaCCAZE Project, NEXUS Project, SYNERGIES CCAM Project and ZEV-UP Project. Last but not least, the ERTICO Innovation Platforms and Data Spaces also continue to maximise the impact and reach of innovation in mobility, and we had a new entry with the launch of the ITS-Driven Innovative Aerial Services (IDI) Platform. We also saw significant progress across all the activities from ADASIS AISBL, SENSORIS, DFRS - Data For Road Safety, Enhancing Automated Valet Parking (EAVP), TN-ITS, TM 2.0, and of course our initiatives, the ERTICO Academy and #ERTICOCityMoonshot. Last week, the ERTICO - ITS Europe team came together in Spa for an inspiring and energising team event, marking the perfect opportunity to reflect on this year’s outstanding achievements, strengthening our connections, and looking ahead to the exciting opportunities that next year will bring!☄️   This gathering also served as an important reminder of how much we can accomplish when collaboration and energy lead the way. A warm thank you to everyone for bringing enthusiasm, positive mindset, and unique contributions to the table. It is this spirit that drives us forward and makes ERTICO truly special!🙏 This year started with CEO, Joost VANTOMME's inspiring welcoming message, reflecting on the shared commitment and laying out a forward-looking vision for this year. He emphasised collaboration, growth, and innovation as guiding principles. This has been reflected in all our activities this year, starting with the inauguration of our new office, the expansion of new members and the success in delivering outstanding results across all departments. Yesterday, two of our colleagues at ERTICO - ITS Europe participated in the UAM Plazza Accelerator webinar series. Powered by EIT Urban Mobility and funded by the EU, the three-year UAM Plazza Accelerator programme supports promising urban air mobility (UAM) startups with coaching, mentoring, and opportunities to test solutions in real-world environments. 📈🏙️ In yesterday's webinar, Lidia Buenavida Peña, Innovation & Deployment Manager, shared key UAM highlights, drawing insights from our #CityMoonshot initiative. Through interviews with city representatives worldwide, City Moonshot identifies the mobility needs, trends, challenges, and best practices across various topics, including UAM. Lidia presented preliminary findings on current applications and their potential impact. The event was moderated by Dr Vassilis AGOURIDAS, leader of UIC2 with ERTICO as one of its first knowledge partners. 🎙️At #POLIS2024, Vladimir Vorotovic FCILT presented in the panel 'Unpacking Urban Air Mobility'. ERTICO - ITS Europe City Moonshot Phase 2, uncovered really interesting insights from cities on the question of Urban Air Mobility regarding current developments, future plans and concerns. Safety and security, noise pollution, privacy, and inclusiveness are some issues to address as well as questions about space use and congestion. The ITS Congresses have been an important arena where the needs of the cities and innovative solutions come face to face to make urban mobility sustainable. The Summit of Cities and Regions at the ITS European Congress last year discussed some of the topics of the first phase of the City Moonshot. At the ITS World Congress in Dubai earlier this year, the ITS Driven Innovative Aerial Services platform #IDIplatform was launched with other founding members. Other panellists gave really interesting perspectives of the developments in their cities. Yesterday, ERTICO - ITS Europe convened with the Host Organising Committee in Birmingham to begin the preparations for the 2027 ITS World Congress, taking place from 25-29 October at The NEC, Birmingham. #ITSBirmingham2027 This first strategic meeting marked an important step in establishing a unified global narrative, ensuring the delivery of a world-class event while maintaining inclusive and consistent collaboration at local, regional, and international levels. 📌Key priorities covered early mobilisation of stakeholders, such as public authorities, industry leaders, academic institutions, and regional partners, as well as initiating discussions with organisations committed during the bidding process.
