In all the years I have been organising and Facilitating Black Coffee Networking Event in Boorloo WA did any move us in an emotional way as yesterdays did 30/5/24 💜 The reason was Black Coffee catch up’s across Australia in May were asked to have a focus on eliminating DV. ❗ ALERT ❗ Exploitation of vulnerabilities in Cisco ASA VPNs, software & devices has been detected in Australia. Cisco has released the following CVEs relating to the Cisco ASA device compromises: • CVE-2024-20353 – applies to management and VPN web servers for Cisco ASA Software and Cisco Firepower Threat Defence (FTD) Software. This could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the device to reload unexpectedly resulting in denial of service. • CVE-2024-20359 – applies to a legacy capability allowing preloading of VPN clients and plug-ins, which has been available in Cisco ASA Software and FTD Software. This could allow an authenticated, local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying operating system (OS) with root-level privileges. • CVE-2024-20358 – applies to Cisco ASA restore functionality available in Cisco ASA Software and FTD Software. This could allow an authenticated, local attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the underlying OS with root-level privileges. Big news in the cyber world: Five Australians have been arrested and 32 overseas, following an international police takedown of LabHost involving law enforcement agencies from across the world including the Australian Federal Police. LabHost is allegedly a platform was used by cybercriminals to steal personal credentials from victims around the world, including more than 94,000 people in Australia. This platform allegedly allowed cyber criminals to replicate fraudulent websites where it would trick victims into providing their personal information, such as online banking logins, credit card details and passwords, through persistent phishing attacks sent via texts and emails. This would not be possible without the smartest and most talented cyber operatives in the Australian Government working round the clock investigating and protecting us from cyber attacks.
