To celebrate Library & Information Week (#LIW2024) we’ve compiled our achievements from the past 12 months. These remarkable numbers demonstrate your support for our local libraries and showcase the commitment and hard work of our dedicated library team. ❤ 🏛 597,142 visits to our five branches (+13%) 📚 971,116 items borrowed 💡 2,350 programs and events delivered (including almost 500 local & family history sessions) 👩👩👦👦 60,096 program attendees (with over 12,000 babies & carers attending our weekly Babytimes) 💳 and 5,828 new members (more than double the number of new faces since last year!) In our latest feedback survey, we discovered that: 💜 98% of participants feel the library is an important part of the community 🧡 94% of participants felt safe and welcome to visit us 💙 94% of participants recognised that we had encouraged them to read more 💚 Over 60% of respondents had used the library within the last week If you see any of our team this week, why not compliment their cardigan, tell them how much you love the library, or just say hi! #LibrariesChangeLives #RootsOfDemocracy #LIS
