This! The power of collaboration! A wonderful example of what can be achieved when we work together.
This is why I do what I do. When I partnered with Travellers Aid Australia to promote their range of services, I hoped it might help someone. Little did I know it would lead to such a life-changing outcome for Ingrid, a vibrant woman with some mobility challenges. After reading my article, Ingrid tried the mobility equipment hire from Flinders Street Station Travellers Aid (just $40 from 7am–7pm) and was amazed by how much freedom it gave her. She even drove to the Queen Victoria Market! Inspired by the experience, she decided to invest in her own mobility scooter. Now she’s exploring Melbourne with ease and loving every moment. This is exactly what Seniors in Melbourne is all about—connecting people with services and solutions that enrich their lives. Ingrid’s story is a beautiful reminder of how a bit of information can spark real change. If you know someone who might benefit from resources like these, please share my article below or visit Seniors in Melbourne for more tips and inspiration. And don’t forget to check out the amazing team at Travellers Aid—they’re doing incredible work to support visitors coming in and out of Melbourne. https://lnkd.in/gJ9vvwsr #Accessibility #TravellersAid #SeniorsinMelbourne

Congrats to the team at Kardinia Park and of course to the Matilda’s on an epic win on Saturday! Our staff and volunteers provided mobility assistance to almost 200 spectators to attend the GMHBA stadium, a great addition to the existing accessibility supports available. A big thank you to Kardinia Park Stadium Trust and to our partners at NHP Electrical Engineering Products and V/Line who enable our important work at these events with our buggies, volunteers and promotion. “We look forward to future opportunities that enable Travellers Aid to support people of all abilities to connect, engage, and participate with everything on offer at Kardinia Park”, Travellers Aid CEO, Elias Lebbos. #AccessibleEvents #TravellersAid #KardiniaPark #NHP #Geelong

Today we celebrate International Day of People With Disability #IDPWD and acknowledge the incredible contribution that diverse representation brings. This year’s theme is ‘Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future’. In line with this theme, this evening our training officer Ben, with a group of his co-facilitators will be part of a panel discussion, hosted by Amplifier Collective at MPavilion . The discussion will focus on access and inclusion and barriers many people face when accessing our city. Insight and knowledge from people with disability is vital in implementing successful environments, services and communities for everyone. https://loom.ly/eEwIvPY #TravellersAid

The Annual Report is always a great reflection on the immense impact Travellers Aid has. The confidence, independence and awareness that our services provide to people is difficult to capture in a 28 page document but we have done our best. It was a big impact weekend with our team supporting people with disability and mobility impairment at both the Walk Against Family Violence on Friday and Treaty in the Park on Sunday. Thank you to both event organisers for recognising the value of providing access and inclusion to your patrons. We would also like to acknowledge the Nigel and Patricia Peck Foundation for their generous support that enabled us to provide services at Treaty in the Park and at many other community focused events. If your company is looking for ways to make big positive social impact, donating to Travellers Aid to provide access and inclusion services at these grassroots events is a simple and powerful way to do it. Happy 10th birthday Travellers Aid Seymour!
Congratulations to our amazing team of staff and volunteers at Seymour Railway Station who have been working tirelessly to ensure people of all abilities are able to connect, engage and participate in their communities using the V/Line network along the north east corridor. Today we acknowledge their contribution and celebrated 10 years of service. Thank you to all our staff and volunteers for your continued efforts in creating an impact for the 53000 people we assisted over the ten years. Thank you to the Lions Club of Seymour for their support from day one. We are also grateful for the confidence and trust that has maintained our strong relationship with our strategic partner and host V/Line. A special mention to Jonathan McKeown for his commitment to making this happen 10 years ago. Looking forward to the next ten years of successful collaboration. #accessibletravel #allabilities #accessibility #inclusion #seymourlionsclub #volunteering #publictransport

What an inspiring night. Melbourne Town Hall filled to the brim with remarkable individuals and groups who are committed to making our city an inclusive, creative, and forward-thinking place. Receiving the Melbourne Award in the category of Access and Inclusion is truly special. Every day, our team have a united vision and purpose; to ensure that everyone can access, participate and engage in all of the things that a lot of us take for granted. Being acknowledged for our contribution to make Melbourne not only one of the world’s most liveable cities but certainly one of the worlds more fair, inclusive and accessible cities is an honour. Congratulations to Accessible Accommodation (The Accessible Group) and Access with Ash on your nominations. We acknowledge the power of collaboration in creating real positive change for people facing barriers to access every day. Accessibility is within everyone’s ability. #MelbourneAwards #CityOfMelbourne
