Unlocking futures in Glen Innes and Armidale. In 2022-23, more than 800 young people in the New England and North West region of NSW faced homelessness or the risk of it. The Foyer Foundation and Pathfinders Ltd are proposing an innovative solution: ✨ A 30-bed Youth Foyer Hub, divided across three locations in Glen Innes and Armidale. 🏠 Housing will include a converted pub, nursing quarters, and an active farm, creating a unique, place-based support system for 16–24 year olds. With partnerships including: 🌾 Local businesses in hospitality, agriculture, and retail for job placements. 🎓 The University of New England for education pathways. 🤝 Indigenous Employment Services and the NSW Aboriginal Land Council for training and apprenticeships. National statistics for homelessness released last week show the continued increase in the housing and homelessness crisis. A solution for Albany’s youth homelessness. In Albany, WA, the housing crisis is hitting young people hard: 🏠 102 weeks is the average wait time for public housing. 📉 The rental vacancy rate is just 0.3%. 💔 Only eight youth crisis beds are available, while 66% of people experiencing homelessness are under 29. We have a plan to change this. Hope for young people in Alice Springs Alice Springs is facing a youth homelessness crisis and young people aren’t getting the support they need to build thriving futures. Insecure housing is a key part of the problem.
