This can be a challenging time of year for many reasons, but when you don't have a safe and secure home, we understand that things can be overwhelming and stressful. Shelter WA is the peak body for community housing and homelessness in Western Australia which means we act as advocates for organisations providing support and services to people who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. We don’t offer direct services or housing support but recommend you start with exploring the following options if you need support at present https://lnkd.in/gEvCnCUU Uniting WA are also a place to explore support https://lnkd.in/gYfgpiaD #HomelessnessSupportWA #HousingInsecurityWA #HomelessnessSupportPerth #HousingSupportPerth #ShelterWA

We’re already getting hit with hot summer temperatures. We know this poses a dangerous risk to the health and wellbeing of many members of our community. That’s why the ACOSS Australian Council of Social Service is running a survey in partnership with the First Nations Clean Energy Network and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA) to capture the impacts of heat on people living in hot homes, to form the basis of a report to be shared with the media and politicians. The survey can be accessed at https://lnkd.in/gdjCnZ3u

Late last week a key member of our team retired! Senior Project Manager, Donna Turner, has been a part of the Shelter WA landscape for a number of years now. She’s had a big impact on a range of projects and initiatives and in all she’s done at Shelter WA she’s also guided all of us in relation to our ever expanding work with Lived Experience advocates. Donna, you’ll be missed but we wish you many wonderful years and an abundance of veges from that vege patch we know is going to get a lot more love now!
