  • The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal which started in 1987 aims to make Christmas brighter for Aussies facing hardship or crisis, through the delivery of gifts to those in need nationwide, including people impacted by the ongoing cost of living challenges. This festive season was no different, with the community coming together to support those doing it tough by dropping off a new gift under the Wishing Tree at any Kmart or K hub store, or by making a monetary contribution in-store or online. Thank you to the Robina Private staff for their incredible donations this year, they will make a difference to the lives of so many Australians in need of a helping hand this Christmas.

  • It was a great Gold Coast Geriatricians and Old Age Psychiatrists Collaborative Interest Group Meeting last week with guest speakers, senior research fellow Dr Clarissa Giebel, PhD from the University of Liverpool in England, on the health inequalities in dementia and what we can go about them, and Director of Neurology Dr Saman Heshmat and Neurosurgeon Dr Liqun (Lee) Yang, on emerging therapies for patients with movement disorders. Fascinating discussions on both topics and a wonderful example of dedication and innovation in their fields of expertise. Thank you to Penny M P King for chairing the meeting and bringing this group of like minded health professionals together for our final quarterly session of the year! We look forward to all the topics and discussions in 2025!
