Social Traders is a leading industry body for social enterprise and responsible business, established since 2008. We unlock business for good in three ways. Grow social enterprise We are the social enterprise certifier in Australia, and we help social enterprise show their credibility and grow their trade revenue. Social enterprise are innovative businesses that work to create a fairer and more sustainable world. There are 650+ certified social enterprises with Social Traders. Supporting responsible business We help organisations deliver and report on their responsible business goals. Whether it’s ESG, sustainability, DEI or social procurement, we bring deep expertise to develop effective solutions – through engaging and embedding social enterprise into supply chains. We've been helping 300+ organisations develop practical strategies and report on the impact outcomes they're creating. Advocate We continue to advocate for the social enterprise sector and supporting governments to shape their economic and social policies, leveraging certified social enterprise to unlock public value. For over 10 years, we've been working with governments across Australia as a trusted partner and adviser on social enterprise and social procurement.

  • 📣 We've been supporting the Queensland Government to shape and deliver their social procurement efforts. And the results are in! It's fantastic to see the Queensland Government has spent $136.7 million with Social Traders certified social enterprise over the past five years. 🎉 This includes $21.5 million with 70 Social Traders certified social enterprise in the past financial year (FY24), resulting in: 💼 120,000 hours of employment for people facing barriers to work (equivalent to 78.8 full time jobs) ⭐ 5,000 hours of training and 56 pathway outcomes to those facing barriers to work ♻️ 6 tonnes of waste being diverted from landfill 💰 over $20,000 being donated to beneficiary groups, including those supporting environmental sustainability, families and children, and marginalised women. We look forward to helping more government agencies shape their economic and social policies, leveraging certified social enterprise to unlock public value in 2025 and beyond!🤝

    🎉 We’re excited to announce Kylie Flament, CEO at Social Enterprise Council of NSW & ACT (SECNA) has joined our certification advisory group. Kylie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a respected leader in the social enterprise sector. She has a background in managing large teams and projects in the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. She managed the cardiac department at both children’s hospitals in Sydney before becoming the CEO of Green Connect, a social enterprise, for five years. Kylie will be joining our existing certification advisory group members: Keith Rovers, Partner - MinterEllison, Michael de Soyza, Director at Ernst & Young and Nicola Nation, CEO at Akina. 👏 We would like to extend a very warm welcome to Kylie and we look forward to continue working with the advisory group as they provide independent perspectives and general advice on Social Traders certification, to ensure it continues to meet the needs of social enterprises as the sector evolves.
