Honouring the Legacy of David Singleton AM It is with deep sadness that we commemorate the passing of our former Chair, David Singleton AM, last week. David was a visionary leader whose contributions shaped the infrastructure sector as we know it today. As the CEO of ARUP and a former Chair of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council—David’s impact on the industry was profound. During his tenure as Chair, David played a pivotal role in establishing the foundations of the Council, bringing together critical founding partners and spearheading the rebranding to ISCA in 2012. Reflecting a lifetime of dedication to engineering and sustainability, earned him recognition as a Member of the Order of Australia in 2018. David’s words resonate as a call to action for us all: “Rather than settling for doing ‘less bad,’ such as less environmental destruction or social disruption, we must aim from the outset to do ‘more good.’” David will be deeply missed by many, including all of us at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council. Our heartfelt condolences go out to David’s wife Anne, his daughter Zoe and son Hugh. May his legacy continue to inspire us to create a more sustainable future.

Register for our upcoming webinar -Navigating Nature-Based Disclosures in the Infrastructure Sector Webinar | Wednesday, 11 December, 12:00 - 1:00PM (AEDT). As ESG reporting requirements evolve, the focus is shifting from climate focus to broader, more complex disclosures. In this webinar, we will examine the TNFD framework and its significance for the infrastructure sector. Additionally, we will highlight how IS Ratings can help facilitate TNFD reporting, helping organisations align sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
