I'm over the moon to announce that the community I once joined and supported over the last 12 months has grown into a powerhouse of learning and driving the next generation of AI talent. Build Club has secure $1.75m AUD ($1.2 USD) in funding for over subscribed pre-seed round. From the humble days of co-working events its great to see the power of community in applied learning, surrounding yourselves with others that are on the same journey. I've been working in the background with Annie Liao 🇦🇺 and Tom McKenzie to bring a stellar learning experience from the ground up. With courses from open-source model serving all the way to building your own AI automations. Training is aimed at everyone from non-technical all the way to the engineers. 😬 I said yes to the impossible... Lets all create a brand from scratch in under 3 hours with 50 of Australia's finest senior marketing minds at the inaugural The Martech Weekly, Martech World Forum in Melbourne last week. No sweat! We laughed, we cried and we all came out wiser knowing AI can be our "frenemy" with the title of our workshop humorously "Is AI Terminator or Picasso?". We were blessed at the opportunity to showcase what we have been building in stealth with Mark Ghiasy: Hyperthink a AI venture studio that puts people and education at the centre of the emerging technology revolution running real and practical education in emerging AI. The group of 50 went from a blank state to a consumer travel brand for millennials in Australia, cost conscious with strong values with a brand strategy to marketing visuals. Quickly learning that its not the tools like OpenAI or Microsoft Copilot but the process and your workflow that's the key. It's the who and how. We are all now in the drivers seat of these tools and everyone is now managing AI in some capacity - its the teams and organisations that learn to work in this new paradigm that will have the upper hand. Was great to see Australian brands pushing forward and being open and receptive to change in a shifting landscape, rather than waiting to follow on from behind we are setting the pace today. 👏 Big thanks to the TMW team and Juan Mendoza for helping us take the fear out of AI and help push the industry forward, Laura McCann for some golden one liners for our slides, 👨💻Troy for keeping us going through the day, shout outs to Canva team for presenting the work the group created, the attendees for being open and receptive to new ideas and to all the various sponsors on the day that made the #MWF24 event a reality Progress Sitefinity, Cvent, Lotame, Braze, Simple Marketing Solutions, Media.Monks, Mutinex, Anchora, Amperity, Amplitude, IVE Group and Magnolia

Most Asia-Pacific employers plan to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) by 2028, but they face a looming skills shortage to meet the demand, according to a new study. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) 2024 Asia-Pacific AI Skills report revealed more than 92% of APAC companies expected to use generative AI tools in their workplaces over the next five years. Despite 79% of employers actively hiring for workers with AI expertise, three in four companies said they were struggling to find skilled talent. Compounding the issue is a lack of AI training, with the report finding more than 95% of employers and 93% of workers face at least one barrier to upskilling, such as lack of knowledge on training programs and a lack of time. In a LinkedIn post, Sales and Delivery Leader Andrew Sklar wrote, "With artificial intelligence transforming industries across APAC at a remarkable speed, upskilling the workforce in AI/ML and generative AI skills is imperative." 📉 AI Trust Tanks in the West: A Sharp 15-Point Drop Signals Growing Fear and Distrust 🌏 The latest Edelman Trust Institute Barometer (2024) underscores a growing trust gap in AI across Western democracies. While technology remains a trusted sector globally, there's a notable decline in confidence towards AI companies, especially in the U.S., where trust plummeted by 15 points since 2019. 💡 In Western countries like Australia, Europe, and the U.S., resistance to AI innovation is not just prevalent but also political. With scepticism towards emerging technologies aligned with political climate. 🔍 The concerns driving this resistance are multifaceted. Top worries include AI's potential to compromise privacy, devalue human essence, and harm both individuals and society at large. Interestingly, fears of AI worsening societal inequalities and job security are less pronounced, suggesting deeper existential and ethical anxieties at play. 🛠️ Bridging this trust divide requires a concerted effort. Key to increasing enthusiasm for AI is transparently communicating its societal benefits, ensuring thorough testing by businesses, and slowing the pace of its introduction to allow for public acclimatisation and regulatory oversight. 🌟 To restore trust in the promise of innovation, the Barometer advocates for a strategy that combines clear implementation plans, business-government partnerships, science-society integration, and empowering individuals with control over how innovations like AI shape their future. 🔗 Explore the report for a deeper dive into restoring trust in AI (Attached) ↓ 🧠 Follow Vincent Koc, learn more about emerging technology and AI

🤔 AI Adoption Reflects a Generational Gap 📈 A recent YouGov survey reveals eye-opening AI adoption stats: 20% of 18-29-year-olds use AI daily, and 30% weekly—a sharp contrast to just 8% of 45-64-year-olds using it daily and 10% weekly. 📊 This indicates a trend: younger generations are integrating AI into their daily lives, while older groups may not be tapping into AI's full current potential - Based on data from the US. 🌟 There's an untapped market amongst experienced professionals. Bridging the AI familiarity gap could lead to significant career advantages. It's not too late for the experienced crowd to leverage AI, boosting their expertise to new heights and staying ahead in the ever-evolving technology landscape. ↓ 🧠 Follow Vincent Koc, to learn more about emerging technology and AI

🤖 How Enterprises Are Adopting Generative AI 📈 Nearly a year after the release of GPT-4 by OpenAI, the tech industry's market cap soared, adding $6 trillion in shareholder value. Notably, NVIDIA's market value is on the brink of $2 trillion, thanks to its pivotal role in AI development. 🤖 The journey of AI from hype to productivity enhancement is underway, with a cautious yet growing embrace by companies. While only a small fraction of US firms currently deploy AI, big names are piloting AI projects, aiming to revolutionise customer service, administrative tasks, and even specialised professional work. 🧙♂️ The “top examples” of Bayer’s 700 use cases include mundane jobs such as “easily getting data from Excel files” and “creating a first draft in Word”. Showing that disruption is ripe and carries the most impact in the more monotonous tasks. 👨💼 Generative AI's potential extends beyond immediate operational improvements, fostering new job roles like "prompt engineers" and "explainability engineers". Despite concerns over data privacy and the technology's nascent stage, the trajectory points towards an AI dominated workplace. 🔗 Read Article: https://lnkd.in/gxfQppKJ ↓ 🧠 Follow Vincent Koc, to learn more about emerging technology and AI

  • 🙉 AI Disruption Is Here Today, Not Tomorrow According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC): https://lnkd.in/gKj7dPm6 🌐 As AI's capabilities surge, predictions suggest up to 25-46% of Australian jobs could be automated by 2030. Yet, this seismic shift isn't a harbinger of unemployment but a transition to new employment landscapes. 💼 "There will be a shift in where the employment occurs, and in what people are employed for. Jobs will be there. They just may not be the jobs that we intimately know today." 🇦🇺 It's paramount we invest in the development of responsible AI, upskilling of Australia's workforce and education for the next generation of AI adopters --- Hyperthink is a leading emerging technology practice that up-skills the workforce of tomorrow.
