Welcome to Northsea, our new mixed-tenure development in the heart of Wollongong! 🔑 Built in collaboration with Traders In Purple and community housing partner Housing Trust, this state-of-the-art building comprises 18 social units, 9 affordable units and 38 private units and is a great example of how we can deliver high-calibre homes to all sectors of the community. 👫 Designed for maximum flexibility, the majority of social housing units have dual-key access. Dual-key units support tenants with a disability, as a carer or support worker can live in the adjoining unit. Extensive landscaped communal areas located on numerous levels also offer great amenities for all residents to enjoy. 🌿 The development contains 5-star energy efficient equipment and appliances, and all social housing units are built to a 7-star National Housing Energy Rating Scheme (NAThers) rating. Around 90% of all construction and demolition materials have been reduced or recycled in the production of the development. 🏠 Read more about our work to deliver quality homes and services that change lives and end homelessness in Wollongong 👉 https://lnkd.in/gfqKtKDz

Providing safe, supported crisis accommodation is essential for disadvantaged youth to feel connected and build a positive future. In Southern Sydney, we’re proud to have delivered a group home and transitional housing unit, which will be managed by Project Youth. The 9-bedroom group home includes an adaptable room for tenants with disability, with ramp entrance for accessibility. These 2 developments were funded under the Social Housing Accelerator Fund (SHAF), with the NSW Government investing $610m to delivery priority social housing supply projects. 🏡 Read more about our work to deliver quality homes and services that change lives and end homelessness in Greater Sydney 👉 https://lnkd.in/gMJhSqij #SocialHousing #HomesNSW #NSWGovernment #ProjectYouthAustralia #SHAF

  • 📢 Help us deliver a better social housing and homelessness system in NSW. We’re inviting stakeholders and community to have their say on a Homes for NSW Discussion Paper. The discussion paper outlines the issues and challenges impacting the non-market housing and homelessness system. In it, we’re proposing 3 priority areas for action and reform: 1. Customer-driven service 2. More and better homes 3. A system that works Are these the right priorities to focus on? What actions will create the biggest impact? How do we improve access to social housing? This is a critical moment to 'think big' about the housing and homelessness system we all want. Your input will inform a new 10-year Homes for NSW Plan, for release in early 2025. We encourage you to have your say and work with us to deliver better outcomes for people seeking housing and homelessness support in NSW. DEADLINE EXTENDED: We've heard you. Submissions will be now accepted until Friday 17 January 2025. Find out more 👉 https://lnkd.in/gBc7Fn6H #PublicHousing #SocialHousing #Homelessness #NSWGovernment

  • 📢 We’re seeking feedback on our draft NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025-2035 We have worked closely with a range of stakeholders to draft a new 10-year, whole of government NSW Homelessness Strategy. The vision of the draft NSW Homelessness Strategy 2025-2035 is to make NSW a place where homelessness is rare, brief and not repeated because people have a safe home and the support to keep it. Flexible whole-of-government Action Plans will sit under the Strategy and set out how we will work to achieve this vision, including standalone plans for Aboriginal people and children and young people. The draft Strategy builds on what we've already heard from sector representatives, homelessness peaks, people with lived experience and government agencies. Our next step is to bring together ideas about how we can implement the Strategy and prioritise focus areas for the first action plan. We will continue to engage with sector groups into 2025 and beyond as we design and implement actions under the Strategy, and our approach to commissioning homelessness services. Watch as NSW’s first 3D-printed social homes come to life 👀 Last week, a 3D printing machine began the transformation of a vacant block in Dubbo – land of the Tubbagah people – into 2 duplexes for Aboriginal families. This fascinating modern method of construction will bring these two-bedroom homes to life in just 16 weeks! The process started by pouring and curing the slab for 4 days and setting up the printer and other equipment. The actual printing process takes 11 days and will use approximately 70 tonnes of a bespoke concrete mix. Once the 3D-printed structure is complete, the roof structure will be installed and the internal fit out commences, with the homes expected to be ready for tenants by February 2025. This innovative project led by Aboriginal Housing Office in partnership with ASH Group Holdings and Contour3D will serve as a test case for the scalability of 3D-printed social housing in NSW as part of the solution to meet the increasing demand for housing. It’s just one of the diverse ways we’re working to deliver quality homes and services that change lives and end homelessness.
