🌞 The Tagalaka Rangers soared to new heights with a drone training day in December! Led by qualified drone pilot Taylor, the rangers headed out to Mount Molloy for some hands-on flying. They explored how drones can assist in managing country, from assessing gully remediation works to mapping weeds. With upcoming projects requiring drone use, one of the ranger team is now on the path to becoming an accredited drone operator 🚁 Funded by the Queensland and Australian governments as part of the Queensland Feral Pest Initiative.

💡 Food trucks, skincare, local produce, and farm stays—just some of the business ideas being brought to life through our Bush Business Program. More than 20 rural women are participating in the initiative, which supports female entrepreneurs to establish new businesses through training and mentorship provided by experienced business owners. 🥾 In December, a two-day boot camp was held in Mareeba (pictured), with separate mini meet-ups also taking place in Georgetown and Croydon. The sessions provided training in essential skills such as defining a customer base, pricing, and marketing. Some participants have also commenced their Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Business with TAFE Queensland. 🙏 One of the program’s key aspects is building a network of like-minded participants to support one another throughout the process. This was highlighted at a networking dinner, which brought together the current Bush Business cohort, past participants, and local female business owners. Find out more about the program 👉 https://lnkd.in/gJinfSDr This project received funding from Queensland Government’s Office for Women, through the Investing in Queensland Women grant program. #investinginQldwomen #IQWgrants #qldwomen
