Debate Club's next event is on the 21st of November at 6 pm 🗓️ Debate topic 👉 Modern Technology Makes People Stupid? 📱 🤔 🤔💭What are your thoughts? Debate Club is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers and we aim to create a space open to all to practice the art of communication and debate, as well as create a community to connect. 💭 Whether you are a beginner in the world of public speaking or you've been doing it for several years, it is a platform to have fun, explore ideas and intellectual sparring! It is also a place to meet and connect with people across different industries you may not necessarily get the opportunity at work. 🤝 Here are some of the photos from past events thanks to Eddy Midgley. From Blackbird Sunrise, Cairns Crocodiles, Blis and Flashtalking by Mediaocean this year, it has been a blast and a great crowd and debates every time. This month we are going rogue (in the best way possible). New topics, new faces, same awesome debates with a small ticket fee. The cost of your ticket keeps the good times (and the snacks) rolling on the night. 🍕 🎟️ It is hosted by the lovely Talent and supported by IAB Australia. Have you booked your ticket? Check the comments for the event link to secure your spot and we look forward to seeing you there 👀 Interested in sponsoring, debating or judging at a future event? Feel free to reach out to myself or Orsolya, Lela, Andrew, Andy, Sorcha, Alicia Placer or Sophie to find out more 🎉 😊

We are thrilled to announce that Debate Club is venturing into new territory. While we love exploring the topics our sponsors bring to us, while we’ve also been having our own ideas and receiving suggestions from our dedicated community of DC fans. With the ups and downs of the economy and changing budgets throughout the fiscal year, sponsorships tend to come to us sporadically. As a result, we’ve decided to experiment with ticketed events. For those unfamiliar, Debate Club is a not-for-profit organisation, and your ticket purchase will go directly towards covering the food and beverage costs for the evening. We know many attendees come straight from work, and we want to ensure everyone can enjoy the night with some food in the belly. If this experiment proves successful, we plan to complement our sponsored events with more frequent ticketed ones, broaden the range of topics, and continue growing our diverse community of thought leadership enthusiasts. Thank you to our regular supporters! We hope to see you there and look forward to meeting some new faces at the event!
