Our final event for the year - A great Boardroom Luncheon in Adelaide As housing and associated infrastructure is, and will continue to be, a key area of focus for the government and our members, it was fantastic to have David Reynolds, the CEO of the SA Department for Housing and Urban Development present to Consult Australia members on how his department is working with SA Water, Renewal SA and other key government agencies on the government’s Housing Roadmap and importantly, identifying the water and transport infrastructure investment required. Pictured SA members enjoying the luncheon conversation, and SA Committee members pictured with David Reynolds. David Reynolds

We heard from over 50 government agencies, 100+ experts, and engaged across industry. The message was clear: we urgently need a new enabling environment to make #DigitalByDefault a reality in infrastructure. 🔗 Download the white paper today: https://lnkd.in/gVMEetkS 🔗 Read more in Consulting Matters: https://lnkd.in/gKRMmZEB Enabling Digital by Default, lays out five practical recommendations to help governments and industry work together to boost #productivity and unlock the full potential of #infrastructure investment: ✅ Build a Digital by Default Community of Practice ✅ Invest in the business case for digital technology ✅ Harmonise data and #informationstandards ✅ Embed digital requirements through outcome-led #procurement ✅ Build #digitalskills and capability With $647 billion committed to public infrastructure over five years, Australia has a unique opportunity to lead. Yet we lose $62 billion annually in productivity. It’s time to break free from outdated practices like paper plans and PDFs and embrace a digital-first approach. This white paper was shaped by insights from across the supply chain. It’s a roadmap to a more efficient, data-driven future—and we’re inviting you to join the conversation to turn these recommendations into action. On behalf of our members it is a privilege to work in partnership with organisations across Australia. With our Collaboration Agreement with Engineers Australia the opportunity to expand our impact in conversation with Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering was clear across the work we each progress globally, and in Australia whether in diversity and inclusion, STEM or championing Australian engineering. Looking forward to seeing this progress with Romilly Madew AO FTSE HonFIEAust EngExec, Kylie Walker and Jonathan Cartledge.
A real pleasure to talk with Romilly Madew AO FTSE HonFIEAust EngExec from Engineers Australia and Jonathan Cartledge from Consult Australia today about the crucial role of engineers in solving some of our key domestic and global challenges - and how we can support and encourage more young people to pursue this exciting and deeply rewarding career path. Looking forward to working more with you both! #engineering #STEMcareers #resilientaustralia
