What a show! Our 9pm Calling Country fireworks display was produced by We Are Warriors. It honoured the spirit of Barangaroo, the Cammeraygal woman who led her people in the face of European colonisation, and the deep connection of Eora women to the waterways of Sydney Harbour. Sydney, you've truly hit all the right notes this year. So much so, we asked our City Choir to sing it out for us. 🎶 Here are some things you helped us achieve this year: - You visited our gyms and pools 1.6 million times - We funded 400 grants - We delivered more than 40,000 Meals on Wheels - More than 300,000 people visited our community centres - We planted 1,000 new trees - We collected more than 10,000 tonnes of recycling - You helped us save more than 400 tonnes of food scraps from landfill - You helped us save 53 tonnes from landfill through our Recycle It Saturday events - You borrowed 1.8 million items from our libraries Thank you for being part of these incredible achievements. Here's to an even bigger and brighter 2025 – together. ✨ [Video description: A group of choir singers stand in a rehearsal space signing. Some are seated in front while others stand in the back. Sing-along lyrics highlighted in green appear across the screen. Throughout the singing, there are several close-ups of the performers faces with images of City Farm volunteers, swimmers and cyclists juxtaposed throughout to correspond with the lyrics.]

At 9pm on New Year's Eve the Calling Country fireworks and pylon projections will light up Sydney in a display celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, stories, people and talent. Calling Country Creative director (and ARIA Award winner!), Nooky, explains how this year's celebration honours women and the spirit of Barangaroo, the legendary Cammeraygal warrior and fisherwoman.
