A more secure Australia through enhancing industry & defence capability. How we help members: Assist members in their dealings with the Australian Government (including Government Departments) & Defence prime contractors. Facilitate the dissemination of Australian Government & prime contractor defence & security-related policy & procurement information to members. Represent members in the presentation of a consolidated Australian SME view, independent of federal or sectoral interests, to both Federal and State/Territory Governments & Defence Prime Contractors. Facilitate networking between Federal, State/Territory & regional Defence Industry bodies aimed to optimise Australian industrial capability/content in all Defence & Security-related contracts. Assist in the development of policies focused on SMEs operating in the Defence & Security sectors. Actively advocate to Federal & State/Territory Governments, Prime Contractors & Government departments such as Defence & Border Force in order to maximise the opportunities for Australian SMEs. Provide members an opportunity for networking (including at non AIDN-led exhibitions & conferences) - facilitating collaboration between members to supply greater capacity & capability to the Australian Defence Forces & security agencies. Inform members of available training relevant to their business needs. CORE STRATEGIES Advocacy: AIDN will represent SMEs by providing a “Voice” for their issues & concerns & promoting members capabilities. Representation: AIDN will provide leadership & build & maintain key partnerships at local, national & international level, through influencing national policy & strategy & maintaining key relationships with political and Government decision makers. Member Services: AIDN will service its chapters & their members through providing relevant information & awareness on the defence & security environment, opportunities for collaboration & engagement & Governance oversight.

Australia, we're going to the moon! Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry, Science and Resources has announced the ELO2 Consortium co-led by EPE and Lunar Outpost Oceania has been selected by the Australian Space Agency to build Australia’s first lunar rover. The $42 million project, funded by the Australian Government through the Australian Space Agency, will see the ELO2 Consortium design, construct, and operate the Australian-made rover, “Roo-ver,” on the lunar surface. “This is a landmark moment for Australia and for EPE,” said Warwick Penrose, CEO of EPE Oceania. “We are immensely proud to co-lead this history-making mission with Lunar Outpost Oceania, and our incredible world-leading research and industry partners from across the nation. MEDIA RELEASE - AIDN Announces the Election of the 2024 Board Members and Appointment of Board Positions The membership of AIDN has re-elected current Directors Sarah Cullens and Alexander Robinson for an additional two-year period, they have also elected a new board Director, Demi Stefanova GAICD, MBA, M.Eng., PMP for a two-year period at the AIDN National AGM held Thursday 28 November 2024. The newest AIDN Director, Demi Stefanova GAICD, MBA, M.Eng., PMP , is currently serving as the interim CEO of the Quickstep Group, Demi brings with her a wealth of experience and will be a valuable advocate for Australia’s Defence Industry. The board continues to represent the diversity of AIDNs membership with members from QLD, VIC, WA, NSW and the ACT. Carl Quarterman as re-elected unopposed Chair of AIDN National as was Sarah Pavillard as the Deputy Chair, Alexander Robinson as treasurer and Nathalie Sarlin as the company secretary. “I want to thank Peter Freed who stepped down from the board who has made a valuable contribution in his tenure. Peter’s drive and passion for the SME community is unwavering and he will continue to serve as a member of the AIDN NSW committee. I personally wish to thank Peter for all his efforts, volunteering takes real time and effort and look forward to working with him into the future.” Chair Carl Quarterman said. The board looks forward to the continuing to work with the outgoing CEO and staff of AIDN during these challenging times for Australia’s Defence Industry.
