Following the first Labour budget for 14 years, consumer confidence in the UK economy has reached the lowest level recorded in RED C Research’s UK Consumer Mood Monitor. A noticeable difference from a year ago is that consumers are now concerned about every aspect of the economy. A year ago, concerns were primarily to do with inflation and the cost of living. Age is an important factor in how consumers reacted to this budget. Older consumers, particularly those aged 65 and older, were significantly more likely to feel things were getting worse. Spending on household energy is expected to increase significantly over the next six months, at levels close to a year ago. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/ekK6n7bD

There has been, and will continue to be, a lot of talk in the marketing world about the merits of AI in creative, so we put it to the test! In our recent RED C Research Christmas Ad Test in the UK, we tested the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas ad and guess what... it did incredibly well! It did well though not just because it was made with AI, but because it used its iconic distinctive assets that were immediately recognised and got people feeling nostalgic about Christmas. Marks and Spencer and The Coca-Cola Company share the top spot on our UK Christmas Ad Effectiveness Test. In the M&S ad, Dawn French was a major benefit with high recognition and strong appeal.
