2024 has been a landmark year for Provizio—one marked by breakthrough achievements, strategic partnerships and significant progress towards our vision. Here’s a look back at some of this year’s highlights: At CES 2024, we started the year with a bang by unveiling the groundbreaking capabilities of our software defined imaging radar technology, enabling a 1km cocoon of high-resolution perception for active safety. Live demos of our 5D Perception® technology also wowed attendees with radar-based object detection, tracking, freespace mapping and SLAM on the busy streets of Las Vegas. With the opening of our Detroit office in the US, we planted deeper roots in the heart of the automotive industry, enabling us to forge stronger OEM and supplier partnerships. By joining forces with Mergon Group, a leading automotive supplier, we successfully launched our production VizioR&I™ platform - the world’s first 5D Perception® imaging radar with an embedded NVIDIA Orin™ GPU. We entered into collaborative developments with several high profile companies & organisations, including leading car and agricultural manufacturers, Tier 1s and even a space program to develop innovative next generation imaging radar solutions. We received ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certification for our organisation, highlighting our commitment to the use of high quality, robust and secure development practices. Throughout the year, Provizio featured prominently in numerous local and international media outlets, TV programmes, radio shows, and podcasts. Of course, it wasn’t all work—we also had plenty of fun along the way! From surfing & zip lining to paint balling & go-karting, 2024 was a fantastic year for bringing the Provizio team closer together and making some fun memories. Last week, the Provizio team came together for an unforgettable in-person meetup! To kick things off, the team showcased some amazing demos of our latest software features and optimisations running on our recently announced production VizioR&I™ imaging radar. Watching the significant improvements in product performance and capability from one meetup to the next is always an inspiring moment for the team. Our engineers also hosted a series of Tech Talk sessions. In addition to fostering cross-pollination of ideas, these sessions are a great opportunity for new team members to gain a more holistic understanding of the core technologies behind some of our key innovations and reinforce the collaborative spirit that drives our mission. After a day of intense problem-solving and brainstorming, we switched gears and hit the beach at Ben’s Surf Clinic in Lahinch. Despite (mostly) being a team of surfing newbies, we managed to catch some waves (and a little air)! Afterward, we warmed up in the beachside Sauna Suaimhneas and wrapped up the day with some breathtaking views at the Cliffs of Moher. Recently our CEO, Barry Lunn, joined Enterprise Ireland’s delegation at this year’s Slush in Helsinki, and what an event it was! Barry was alongside some of the most innovative startups, ambitious founders, and top-tier VCs in Europe. There were 2 main highlights for Barry - the first was the unveiling of Provizio’s VizioR&I™, a revolutionary radar platform with robust perception capabilities, built on NVIDIA technology. The second was watching DevAlly take to the main stage as they were named one of the top 3 startups at Slush, an amazing achievement for the Irish start-up out of over 1,000 applicants. Being part of a 24-strong delegation of Irish companies, led by Enterprise Ireland, highlighted just how much talent and innovation Ireland has to offer. In 2025, automation and AI will begin to reshape our driving experience, according to the Economist Intelligence: EIU. Its latest Automotive Outlook 2025 report (https://buff.ly/4fDfbtl) highlights that while fully autonomous vehicles remain “some way off”, automakers are introducing smarter, AI-driven features like “super assistants” ChatGPT and Alexa. However, while technologies like ChatGPT may be the face of AI for automotive consumers in the near term, the role of AI in the future of automotive technology is far greater.
