About us

Primark is an international fashion retailer employing more than 80,000 colleagues across 17 countries in Europe and the US. Founded in Ireland in 1969 under the Penneys brand, Primark aims to provide affordable choices for everyone, from great quality everyday essentials to stand-out style across women’s, men’s and kids, as well as beauty, homeware and accessories. With a focus on creating great retail experiences, Primark has over 450+ stores globally and continues to expand with the aim of reaching 530 stores by the end of 2026. Primark is working to make more sustainable fashion affordable for everyone through its Primark Cares strategy, a multi-year programme that focuses on giving clothing a longer life, protecting life on the planet and supporting the livelihoods of the people who make Primark clothes. As part of this, Primark unveiled nine commitments it is working to achieve by 2030. These commitments include making all of its clothes from recycled or more sustainably sourced materials by 2030, halving carbon emissions across its value chain and pursuing a living wage for workers in its supply chain.

At #Primark, people are at the heart of everything we do. We're committed to providing colleagues with the supports that matter most to them. We make sure our diverse group of colleagues are valued and aware that their wellbeing is our priority. One of the ways we support our colleagues is with Mental Health First Responder training. Let Mary, Aoife, Norabeth and Caroline take you through what it is and what it means to them💙 #wellbeing

We’re designing clothes to be loved and worn for longer and Claire Scanlon, our Circular and Sustainable Design Solutions Manager is helping us reimagine how fashion is designed – with circularity at the heart of it. From creating pieces that are easier to repair, to exploring new ways to recycle materials at the end of their life, it’s all about keeping clothes in use for longer.  Watch the video to hear how we’re designing and making clothes for a more circular future. How we package our products plays a vital role in reducing our non-clothing waste footprint.  Jessica Lowther, our Packaging Lead, shares how we're making changes – from removing single-use plastics to exploring more recyclable and reusable options. Small changes can make a big difference, and we’re on a mission to rethink our packaging for a more circular future. Celebrating International Human Rights Day Today we honour International Human Rights Day - a day to reflect on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, which champions the fundamental rights and freedoms that every person deserves - regardless of race, gender, nationality, or status. At Primark, respecting the rights of the people in our supply chain is a priority. It’s essential to us that everyone feels safe at work and has their human and legal rights respected. One example is our My Life programme in India. Launched in 2017 with international NGO Women Win and The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, the programme focuses on empowering vulnerable workers, particularly women, with skills in communication, labour rights, and workplace health. It’s about helping workers understand and assert their rights, helping to create safer, fairer workplaces. This is just one of many ways we’re working to support the people who make our clothes.
