Celebrating International Human Rights Day Today we honour International Human Rights Day - a day to reflect on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, which champions the fundamental rights and freedoms that every person deserves - regardless of race, gender, nationality, or status. At Primark, respecting the rights of the people in our supply chain is a priority. It’s essential to us that everyone feels safe at work and has their human and legal rights respected. One example is our My Life programme in India. Launched in 2017 with international NGO Women Win and The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, the programme focuses on empowering vulnerable workers, particularly women, with skills in communication, labour rights, and workplace health. It’s about helping workers understand and assert their rights, helping to create safer, fairer workplaces. This is just one of many ways we’re working to support the people who make our clothes.
