Our Jones Engineering Electrical team in Cork held their annual Apprentice Recognition Awards Lunch last Tuesday. 23 Apprentices were acknowledged for their outstanding contribution, dedication, hard work, and leadership shown throughout 2024. Also, on the day a special presentation was made to 2 apprentices. * James O’Connor (Jones Electrical) winner of Electrical award in the Generation Apprenticeship Apprentice of the Year Awards 2024 * Daniel Herlihy (Jones Mechanical) finalist in the Plumbing and Heating section of the Worldskills Ireland 2024 event in the RDS in September Jones Engineering is the largest trainer of apprentices in the construction industry in Ireland with 2,500 people trained over the last 10 years. Our Renewable Projects team recently took delivery of a 110MVA 110/33 kV transformer from Tamini Trasformatori S.r.l. for one of our 110 kV substation projects for a Solar Farm development. ***Jones Engineering win at the National Apprenticeship Office’s ‘Champions in the Workplace Awards 2024! *** Yesterday, we attended the Generation Apprenticeship Workplace Champions Awards ceremony in the Radisson Blu Hotel, St. Helens, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin and came away with one of eight awards that were presented. With 80 entries across three categories, our Jones Apprentice training team were delighted to accept one of the two awards in the Teams category.   Mary-Liz Trant (Director, National Apprenticeship Office) gave the opening address and Pat O'Doherty (Chairperson, National Apprentice Alliance) presented the awards on the day. **Jones Engineering Services Day Out** Over 20 members of the Jones Engineering Maintenance team got together to compete on the race track. Electricians, Plumbers and AC Technicians going toe to toe! We had a brilliant day, with food provided by Woodfire & Wings Tony Sweeney was wearing the no.1 Jersey but it wasn't to be, Fionn Fogarty won the final in style!
