It's launch day!! Epic Content Marketing for Higher Education is available for purchase through my website (link in the comments) at a discount price. We'll get the EPUB version out soon and then we'll start the process of getting it up on Amazon and Audible. I can't express how much fun I had writing this book and getting to interview more than 50 higher education and marketing experts and share their insights and expertise. I'm a firm believer that content marketing is the single most effective way any institution can get its audiences to know, like, and trust them...and the case studies and examples in the book show exactly how to do that. #highereducation #highered #contentmarketing #marketing #epic

I got some great advice recently, get a degree in AI! I've been looking around and here are some universities I found offering AI degrees 👇 University of Limerick - Ireland, In-Person Bachelor/Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning https://lnkd.in/euwigJwU Abertay University - UK, Delivered Online MSc Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence https://lnkd.in/eR4kHHgf? King's College London - UK, Delivered In-Person Artificial Intelligence BSc https://lnkd.in/eEstJUYJ IU International University of Applied Sciences - Germany, Delivered Online Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence https://lnkd.in/eP_9YHuj Tomorrow University of Applied Sciences - Germany, Delivered Online Online Impact MBA in Green Energy, Tech & AI https://lnkd.in/e8czh8CS? Penn State University - US, Delivered Online Master of Artificial Intelligence https://lnkd.in/eMAeCiVf John Hopkins University - US, Delivered Online Artificial Intelligence Master's Program https://lnkd.in/eKs-Xxsx University of San Diego - US, Delivered Online Master of Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence https://lnkd.in/ezacnzQf Interestingly most universities I looked into we're either not offering degrees in AI or were offering some form of certificate in AI instead. What do you think? Is getting a degree in AI a smart decision? I think by 2025/2026 most universities will have introduced a degree in AI as part of their course options for students.

I graduated, again! Just finished my MBA with thePower Business School. A really great experience learning from incredible entrepreneurs such as Uri Levine Co-Founder of Waze, Marc Randolph Co-Founder of Netflix, Jennifer Fleiss Co-Founder of Rent The Runway and so many more! It genuinely helped me greatly improve my mindset, strategies and decision making as an entrepreneur. What or where to study next? 🤔 Open to suggestions!

Higher Education have a great ally in Governor Tim Walz, a former high school teacher. As a passionate advocate for more accessible education, Governor Walz has made noteworthy strides in promoting higher education opportunities in the state. His efforts include signing the North Star Promise into law, a free college program for students from families earning less than $80,000 a year. This bold move has not only increased enrollment rates in the state’s colleges and universities but has also prompted neighbouring states to offer similar programs to their students. Additionally, his work has led to a significant $650 million investment in higher education over two years, marking the largest increase in support for public higher education in the state's history. While the state currently grapples with a shortfall in its financial aid program, the impact of these measures on Minnesota’s talent pool and economy cannot be underestimated. What impact do you think such policies have on the future of higher education? Students are choosing alternative education. They want flexibility and real-world skills. I’ve seen more and more students make this choice. Here are 9 reasons why students are turning to alternative education providers such as new online universities and bootcamps: 1) Flexibility and Convenience • Online programs offer flexible schedules. Students can learn at their own pace and balance other commitments. • Bootcamps provide intensive, short-term courses that fit into busy lives. 2) Cost-Effectiveness • Traditional universities can be expensive. Online programs and bootcamps often cost less and offer payment plans. • Many alternative programs offer scholarships and financial aid. 3) Career-Focused Training • Bootcamps focus on specific skills needed in the job market. Students gain practical, hands-on experience. • Online universities often partner with industries to ensure relevant curriculum. 4) Faster Path to Employment • Bootcamps typically last a few months. Students can quickly transition into new careers. • Online degrees can be completed faster than traditional ones, accelerating career entry. 5) Access to Global Opportunities • Online education breaks geographical barriers. Students can enroll in programs from top institutions worldwide. • Networking with peers and instructors from different regions broadens perspectives. 6) Personalized Learning Experience • Many programs use adaptive learning technologies. Courses can be tailored to individual needs and learning styles. • Smaller class sizes in bootcamps ensure personalized attention. 7) Technological Integration • Online universities and bootcamps leverage the latest technology. Students learn using tools and platforms used in modern workplaces. • Exposure to tech enhances digital literacy and job readiness. 8) Support and Resources • Many programs offer career services, mentorship, and job placement assistance. Students receive guidance to navigate their career paths. • Alumni networks provide ongoing support and opportunities. 9) Diverse Course Offerings • A wide range of subjects is available. Students can find niche programs that align with their interests and career goals. • Interdisciplinary courses prepare students for multifaceted roles. Higher Education needs to develop their offerings to stay competitive. While EdTech providers need to lean on and strengthen their competitive advantages to capture more of the market. What do you think the future of education looks like? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi 👋 My name is Philip and I am a Highered & EdTech marketing and growth fanatic. Marketers looking to boost your client's SEO success, check out Philip Smith 🎓's suggested content strategy & tech stack! There are also a number of additional features within Hike (like our keyword tools, content wizard and onsite optimizer) that would allow you to deliver great results without quite so many tools, but, we also know that there is no 'one size fits all' approach to SEO and it's all about finding what works for you.

This is the content creation strategy I've used for clients to rank #1 on Google. I create a list of target keywords, for the colleges and edtech companies I work with this is typically course related keywords with intent. Semrush is usually my go to supplemented with other tools to find the best keywords. Which I also use for technical and backlink audits, but for this post I am focusing on content for on-site SEO. I've been using Hike for clients typically as it allows for a great dashboard for the client to see everything in once place for great transparency and help in optimising on-site, off-site and technical SEO. Hike is great for tracking keywords rankings to see the improvements, also great for clients to track progress 👍 I use SEO.AI to create articles for the target keywords. After testing loads of different tools this is hands down the best I've found. SEO.AI allows me to analyse the current ranking content on Google so I know what SEO score I need to achieve to rank #1. I have a copywriter work on the articles to fine tune, improve copy and check for inaccuracies or content that isn't unique enough. I upload the articles to the client's website. Use Yoast Premium to help optimise focusing on the meta description, headers, use of keywords etc. Add at least one image with alt text. > Publish Review performance over the next couple weeks. Optimise further, add more text, links, improve SEO score etc Rinse and repeat for each target keyword until you achieve the desired ranking but if technical SEO is good and you have equal or more backlinks than competitors there is a very good opportunity to rank #1. Build out your website consistently with this strategy making a bigger website with more and more content optimised for SEO and skyrocket your SEO!

Are you in a red or blue ocean? For example, HigherEd is mostly a red ocean while innovative EdTech companies are often in a blue ocean. 🔴 Red Ocean: Compete in Existing Market Space In a red ocean, companies fight for market share in an already crowded space. They try to outperform competitors to grab a bigger slice of the pie. This often leads to intense rivalry and price wars. 🌊 Blue Ocean: Create Uncontested Market Space In a blue ocean, companies create new demand in an uncontested market space. They focus on innovation and value creation. This allows them to avoid direct competition and capture new customers. 🔴 Red Ocean: Focus on Beating Competition Red ocean strategies involve competing within the existing market boundaries. The goal is to beat the competition and dominate the market. This often results in incremental improvements rather than groundbreaking innovations. 🌊 Blue Ocean: Focus on Making Competition Irrelevant Blue ocean strategies aim to render the competition irrelevant by creating a unique market space. Companies innovate to offer unique value propositions. This can lead to entirely new industries and customer bases. 🔴 Red Ocean: Exploit Existing Demand Red ocean strategies focus on exploiting existing demand. Companies try to attract customers from competitors. This often leads to a zero-sum game where one company's gain is another's loss. 🌊 Blue Ocean: Create New Demand Blue ocean strategies focus on creating new demand. They look for untapped customer needs and develop products or services to meet them. This expands the market and creates growth opportunities. 🔴 Red Ocean: Align System of Activities with Strategic Choice of Differentiation or Low Cost In a red ocean, companies align their activities to either differentiate themselves or compete on cost. This often involves trade-offs between quality and price. 🌊 Blue Ocean: Align System of Activities in Pursuit of Differentiation and Low Cost In a blue ocean, companies align their activities to achieve both differentiation and low cost. They innovate to offer unique value at an affordable price. This creates a win-win situation for both the company and its customers.
