At Tallink Grupp, we believe in supporting those in need, both in our home countries and beyond. Since the start of the war in Ukraine, we’ve prioritised helping Ukrainians wherever possible. Over the past few years, we’ve provided humanitarian transport between Estonia, Finland, and Sweden, knowing that acts of kindness are vital, and that any of us might one day need help ourselves. On Tuesday, the 17th December, we carried out our most significant humanitarian effort of 2024. MyStar transported nearly 100 Ukrainian children to Finland for the holidays, offering them a chance to recover and find joy away from the horrors of war. The crew, with the support of Tallink Duty Free, ended the journey with a festive gesture, handing out sweet treats to the children and spreading Christmas cheer. It’s a privilege to do good together, supporting not only our local communities but also those who need it most. Let’s continue to look out for one another! 🌟

On December 4th, Tallink Grupp's Food & Beverage team hosted a conference for over 100 supply partners from Estonia, Finland, and Sweden onboard Victoria. The event focused on supply chain sustainability, ESG regulations, and the introduction of our new procurement system, FOBE. Paavo Nõgene, CEO of Tallink Grupp, opened the day, followed by Katri Link MCIPR, Head of Communications and ESG, who emphasised the importance of waste reduction, social responsibility, and minimizing our ecological footprint. By 2025, Tallink Silja Line will transition to using only cage-free eggs. The Food & Beverage team shared insights into procurement processes, operational scale, and the value of storytelling in menus. Each year, we purchase over 1 million kilograms of fresh fruits and vegetables, serve 6.3 million à la carte portions, and welcome 2.4 million guests to our buffets. Consistent quality and innovative collaborations remain a priority. The conference concluded with recognition of those involved in organising the Tallink Silja Line Chef of the Year and Bartender of the Year competitions, followed by a festive Christmas buffet on the Baltic Sea. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to the event.

This past Saturday, at the Tasty Estonia festival in Tallinn, we crowned the Tallink Silja Line Chef of the Year 2024 and launched our very first Bartender of the Year 2024 competition. The culinary challenge brought together seven teams from across our fleet and hotels, with Silja Symphony’s Chunye Zhao and Suthang Marnkong taking the top chef honours. Their winning 3-course menu will be featured onboard from February 2025! For the bartenders, Anton Melnikov of Tallink City Hotel earned the title with his creative late-autumn cocktail inspired by Estonian flavours. A huge thank you to all participants, mentors, and judges who made this celebration of talent and innovation unforgettable. 👏 Photos: Jan-Joonas Kimmel
