We couldn't be more proud of Éva Fekete for being selected for the #ShiftThePower Fellowship! The Fellowship of The Global Fund for Community Foundations includes 15 global change-makers from 12 countries, each with their own unique backgrounds and visions for change, representing varied efforts to transform communities and challenge existing power dynamics in international development and philanthropy. The Fellows were selected from a pool of over 1,100 applicants. Congratulations, Éva! 👏👏

The Roots and Wings Foundation has recently received a new impetus to achieve our organisational development goals with the help of ICG Integrated Consulting Group (ICG). ICG, a European consulting group, has been supporting our development and strategy implementation with its expertise since the beginning. ICG aims to work with its clients to develop sustainable and effective change processes. Working with them, we always experience a commitment to our cause: they bring their expertise, deep understanding and straightforward, clear communication to every meeting. We are grateful to the ICG team for believing in and supporting us in a more sustainable and efficient way of working together.

"It was already evident from the applications, but when we visited the selected ones in the summer, it was even more striking that there is an incredible tension, a narrowing and a very strong division everywhere." For the third time, #communityfoundations (CFs) from across Hungary gathered, this year in Nyíregyháza, for our annual national meeting. Nine #communityfoundations were represented, along with the team of Community Foundation Support Programme, as we spent two productive days together. Our aim was to strengthen connections, share experiences, and learn from one another. This gathering was another step forward in building a more connected and resilient #communityfoundationnetwork in Hungary. Roots and Wings Foundation at #KoneKtor2024: Fostering Unity, Understanding, and Social Cohesion We're proud to have participated in Philea - Philanthropy Europe Association #KoneKtor2024, the largest network of philanthropic and civil society organizations in Central and Eastern Europe. Hosted by Porticus in Prague, this year's theme of Dialogue, Democracy, and Diversity focused on bridging divides and innovating ways to maintain connection in an era where democracy and civil society face unprecedented challenges. Through powerful sessions on political polarization, climate justice, and the impact of arts and culture in marginalized communities, the conference emphasized philanthropy’s vital role in fostering understanding and reconciliation. As an organization, we stand committed to strengthening social cohesion, and creating safe spaces for difficult conversations. Research by our colleague, György Hámori on the dynamics and motivation of #communityfoundations. György conducted research on the group dynamics of #communityfoundations (CFs) in Hungary within the framework of the European Community Foundation Initiative-funded Learning Lab. The aim of the research is to draw conclusions on how motivational factors influence the work of community foundations and thus to gain a more accurate understanding of the activities of the Roots and Wings Foundation.
