The year is nearly closing, and we’re reflecting on Rights, Health, and Collective Action. As December wraps up, we wanted to pause and recognize two important days celebrated this month: Human Rights Day (December 10th) and Universal Health Coverage Day (December 12th). And honestly, they feel like the perfect way to wrap up a year where these principles showed up in everything we did. In 2024, we’ve seen: • 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 through programs tailored to their needs, reducing financial barriers and improving well-being. • 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀, especially benefiting very rural communities. • 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 directly contributing to stronger, more resilient supply chains (check out our 60 Decibels study for more insights https://lnkd.in/dEfMDz5F). There’s so much more to share - stories, partnerships, and reflections that shaped our year. 👉 https://lnkd.in/dWPfhYhf Thanks for being with us this year. Here’s to 2025 - more collaboration, more impact, and yes, more ringing cowbells. 🔔

On the 11th day of impact, join our co-founders, Samuel Knauss, and Julius Emmrich, as they reflect on this year’s milestones and memories. 𝗜𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀... "One of the most striking impressions for me was how farmer associations and cooperatives have fully embraced the program. They lead the outreach, sensitize farmers, provide feedback, and even support healthcare providers – demonstrating ownership and integration with our field operations teams." 𝗔𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘂𝘀... "Almost every time I visit a community, I hear stories of lives saved – often these are mothers with birth complications or children with severe infections who received the care they otherwise wouldn’t have. These stories show the critical difference our program makes in communities." 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀... "This year, we received exceptionally positive external impact evaluations for our work in Ghana and Madagascar. Sharing these results with our partners and teams has been a source of pride and motivation for everyone involved." 𝗔𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻... "Our collaboration with public healthcare providers and ministries of health has been growing stronger. Health officials see our work as a key support to improving healthcare quality while making it accessible to all." Join us tomorrow as we celebrate the holidays and wrap up our 12 Days of Impact campaign with the final story 🥁

🎁 On the second day of our '12 Days of Impact' campaign, we shared insights from cooperatives in Madagascar. Today, on the eleventh day, we’re sharing voices from Madagascar directly benefiting from the program! 🇲🇬 Farmers highlighted the financial relief the program provides: 💬 "With today's financial crisis, the program has made it easier for me to pay for my illness.” Reflected on the quality of care: 💬 “The cost of medication is reduced at the hospital, but it treats well.” And shared the broader impact of the program on their quality of life: 💬 "I gained an advantage in terms of health and microeconomics.” As we approach the end of the campaign and celebrate the impact we’ve heard, our wish is simple: that these benefits continue to expand, reaching even more families and communities in 2025.

🎁 It’s not just the days of the impact campaign flying by—we’re already at Day 9! ✨ Today, we’re highlighting two of our longest-running projects that have supported cocoa farmers and their families through access to healthcare. Here’s what CFO Mareike Toulas from Max Felchlin AG shared: 💬 "Together with Elucid, we are revolutionizing the cocoa supply chain by providing our cocoa farmers and their families with access to essential healthcare. Our commitment protects their income from unforeseen costs, promotes their well-being, combats poverty, and thus creates a sustainable livelihood." Also Maria Christodoulou from Fludor Ghana reflects on a year of collaboration: 💬 "Farmers’ health and resilience is the backbone of a secured cocoa supply and a critical force in shaping a sustainable future. After a full year of collaboration with Elucid, we are extremely proud of the health program we have codesigned and which now touches the lives of nearly 1,000 beneficiaries, cocoa farmer household members in Fludor’s cocoa supply chain in Ghana. Farmers don’t miss the opportunity to express their gratitude to a 'pioneering and life-changing' program as it has enabled their families to ultimately access much-needed healthcare services without having to carry any financial burden. Ahead of the festive season, Fludor wants to express our deepest appreciation to our partners from Elucid for the amazing things we have achieved together so far and commit to the strengthening and expansion of our partnership in 2025 so cocoa farmers’ health and prosperity become the norm." Day 9 reminds us that long-term collaboration isn’t just about impact - it’s about setting the stage for what’s next. With partners like Felchlin and Fludor, 2025 is already shaping up to be a year of even greater progress for cocoa farming communities.

As we wrap up the first year of our partnership with Greenyard and GIZ Ecuador, we are proud to reflect on the impact made in Ecuador’s El Oro province. Together, we have provided healthcare services to 479 individuals in Greenyard’s banana supply chain. Through regular mobile clinic visits and support for preventive and emergency care, the program has addressed critical healthcare gaps, ensuring workers and their families can access care near their homes and farms. This year alone, 224 claims were registered, with many focused on chronic conditions, improving community well-being and resilience. When Julius Emmrich and Lukas Beigel visited our operations, they met with healthcare providers and workers to hear their thoughts on our health program and impact directly. As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to build on this progress, with plans for another mobile clinic visit and further efforts to strengthen healthcare access for these communities. Year 2 promises an even greater impact, and we’re ready to make it happen!

🎁 It’s Day 8 of our ‘12 Days of Impact’ campaign, and today we’re heading back to Ghana! 🇬🇭 This time, we spotlight our partnership with the Chocolonely Foundation, Tony's Chocolonely, and the cooperatives they collaborate with - @Abocfa, ASETENAPA CO-OPERATIVE COCCOA FARMING, and Asunafo Cocoa Farmers. Together, we ensure all farming households in Tony's supply chain in Ghana can access healthcare services. 💬 "At Elucid, we believe that collaboration drives change," shares our regional director, Richard Osei Kuffour. In Ghana, this partnership is breaking down barriers to healthcare, ensuring farmers and their families can access the care they need. But don’t just take it from us. Here’s what the Asetenapa Cooperative, represented by Manager Mr. Isaac Vifa, shared about the impact: 💬 "Asetenapa Cooperative is excited to partner with Elucid, made possible by our partners Tony's and the foundation, to provide farmers with much-needed health coverage. Through this partnership, we are not only improving their lives but also strengthening the cooperative as a whole. Looking ahead to 2025, we aspire to scale the project to reach even more families while enhancing healthcare access through mobile clinics to the doorstep of the farmer and create a lasting impact for generations to come." Their wish for 2025 encapsulates what’s possible when partnerships meet ambition.

🎁 On the 7th day of our '12 days of impact' campaign, let’s continue our travels in Latin America, bringing you a story of health and hope from Ecuador! 🇪🇨✨ Meet Jennifer Segura, one of our program beneficiaries. She shared how the Elucid membership card has made a difference in her family’s life: 💬 "Illness came out of nowhere. No one expects them. And sometimes we do not have, so to speak, that 'Plan B' saved up for emergencies." For Jennifer, the card has provided much-needed support for her family: 💬 "When it comes to medicine, it helped me a lot. About a month ago, my son got sick, and we had to take him to the emergency room. [...] We got the medicines the doctor prescribed at the pharmacy. [...] We did not have the money, but thanks to the bonus we have - that program - it helped us a lot." At Elucid, our vision goes beyond farmers and producers. We believe in community health. ✨ Our 2025 wish for people like Jennifer? That they can care for their loved ones without the burden of out-of-pocket health expenses holding them back.

☕ You may have seen a teaser in our newsletter, and now here’s the full story! JDE Peet's, Sucafina, UGACOF, and Elucid, co-funded by Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development, are collaborating on the 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 to provide #healthcare access to over 𝟯,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮’𝘀 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻. With 98% of farmers uninsured and many living below the international #poverty line, REACH implements a health program that: • Subsidizes essential and emergency care at local health facilities • Conducts mobile clinics to ensure healthcare access for remote communities • Provides a digital wallet for farmers to save for healthcare expenses. By reducing healthcare costs: • Farmers can invest more in their farms, improving productivity. • Household income and stability increase, reducing reliance on child labor. This initiative: • Strengthens farmer loyalty and resilience. • Ensures a more stable and sustainable coffee supply chain. REACH provides a blueprint for expanding healthcare solutions to more farming communities across Uganda.
