There's a lot of talk about ditching follower count tiers for influencer compensation in 2025—and while I agree other metrics matter more, I think we’re underestimating how embedded these tiers are in current processes. Changing this would require a major overhaul in media planning, especially at the RFP stage, and could complicate how campaigns are budgeted and benchmarked. It's not impossible, but it’s certainly not a quick fix. Until scalable, easy-to-implement alternatives emerge, follower count tiers might stick around longer than we’d like.
