Jil Sander is proud to announce the opening of its largest store to date, a new flagship in Tokyo’s prestigious Ginza district. Expanding its footprint in Japan, this new door joins its 20 points of sale across the country. Spanning more than 600sqm over two floors, the store is designed in collaboration with Casper Mueller Kneer and echoes creative directors’ Lucie and Luke Meier’s work on the coalescence of ideas, their commitment to build durable environments. The space features monochrome blocks of marble, brass architectural elements and timber pieces. Furniture elements are formed of recycled plastic from compact disc cases. The floors are carved out of stone, creating mineral, geological surfaces. Walls and staircase are made from a silver-blue travertine. For the first time, there is a dedicated exhibition space for art installations, debuting with Bergamo II by British sculptor Rachel Whiteread. Alongside the brand’s collections, this store will feature an exclusive capsule. An homage to Ginza, with “Gin” meaning silver in Japanese, the selection includes signature items such as The 7 Days Shirt and The Cannolo Bag, uniquely distinguished with silver accents and silver materials. JIL SANDER FOR OTB FOUNDATION Celebrate the season of giving. Jil Sander announces a partnership with the OTB Foundation to support children in need. Introducing a limited-edition t-shirt, in which the sale of each will benefit the OTB Foundation’s youth projects around the world. These projects include access to education, psychological support, medical care and therapies. Fifty percent of the purchase price of each Jil Sander for OTB Foundation shirt sold will be used by the OTB Foundation for these specific projects benefiting children. For this launch occasion, the proceeds will support the first and only girls’ public orphanage in Kapisa, Afghanistan, a project led by the OTB Foundation in partnership with the Italian non-profit Nove Caring Humans. Jil Sander is proud to announce the opening of a new store in Florence on the city’s prestigious Via Tornabuoni. Located in a listed building and designed to create an intimate journey into the world of Jil Sander infused with Lucie and Luke Meier’s sensitivity and superior attention to detail, the store combines the modernity and elegance of the brand with the historical elements of the palazzo. The 130 sqm space is carved out of stone, creating mineral, geological surfaces across multiple areas. The floors and walls are made from a silver-blue travertine, rough honed or scored and textural. Based on the design developed by the globally-renowned firm Casper Mueller Kneer, the store concept echoes the Meier’s work on the coalescence of ideas, and their commitment to build durable environments, designed to wear and age well over time, integrating natural and re-used materials. The space features monochrome blocks of marble, brass architectural elements and timber pieces. Furniture elements are formed of recycled plastic from compact disc cases. The original ceilings feature elements of another time: wooden components, stone moldings and doorframes to create contrast, yet harmony in each room. Lighting is crucial to the experience. Studied to illuminate the historical features, with a soft natural light, it creates an intimate setting. A dimension that feels personal and private, suggesting care and concentration. A space to discover the women’s and men’s runway and pre-collections across ready-to-wear, shoes, handbags, and accessories. #JilSanderbyLucieandLukeMeier
