Everybody thinks it's about price. One day, I discovered how we make decisions about traveling and realized it has nothing to do with the cost. It was early 2019, after an amazing experience in fintech, I decided to take some time off and travel for a few months. Concentrating a lot of travel into a few consecutive months, I experienced what a normal traveler could experience in a few years. Moreover, I'm an entrepreneur. I don't just enjoy the world; I always naturally see where there is value, where there is value to add, what empty spot the market has left. As a traveler, I started to wonder. Why did I choose the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.? After a month of analyzing my behavior, I finally understood: Was it about price? Why the Philippines and not Vietnam? Why Bali and not Cambodia? Why Malaysia and not India? Why did I make an effort to go to remote places in those countries? That wasn't definitely pricing driven. What happened instead is that I saw a video from a travel creator that deeply inspired and impacted me. I wanted that vibe. I related the happiness of the person in the video to the beauty of that place. We travel for a vibe, for a search of the extraordinary, out of the ordinary life. Nothing better than videos with human emotions can transfer this vibe. This is the reason why later that year, I decided to start blinkoo. I surprisingly discovered that travel creators often are not paid for the value they bring. Monetization is hard. Inspiration is hard to monetize. We started Blinkoo to help people find inspiration quickly in a structured way and help creators earn just because they inspire. But today, there is a major development in our journey. We decided to help travel companies become inspirational media companies, by providing our videos and tech-stack with a simple SDK. With the advent of short, engaging, dopamine-inducing videos, industries are fighting for attention. Markets are changing rapidly thanks to the capacity of being remarkable and engaging through videos. 91% of internet traffic is made up of videos. Being a travel company and not investing in videos today is a path to losing ground. Video projects are expensive, video technologies even more so. We solve both of these problems.
