The e-Conomy SEA 2024 report by Google, Temasek, and Bain & Company shows a growing trend in funding for emerging sectors, particularly SaaS. SaaS startups accounted for 49% of the 51 investment deals worth US$300 million in the first half of 2024. Investor confidence remains strong, with 60% of Southeast Asian investors planning to focus on this sector in the coming years. In a conversation with Tech in Asia, Larry Susanto, AVP of Investment at AC Ventures, which invests in leading SaaS companies like PT Esensi Solusi Buana (ESB) and Koltiva, shared, “SaaS is attractive due to its ease of monetization and scalability. We believe SaaS solutions have real potential to solve the most pressing challenges that SMEs and enterprises are facing.
