PortugalDC was present at the 2024 Breakfast Debate Series: What Kind of Country Is This? organized by Valkírias Consultores in partnership with Vida Económica. The session, titled Connectivity: What’s Next for Portugal?, explored the growing role of data-driven economies and the transformative potential of submarine cables in shaping transatlantic and global connectivity. Portugal’s unique position as a connector of all inhabited continents, with over 70 international connections and more than 140 landing stations, was a key highlight. The discussions emphasized the need for a national strategy to leverage this potential—streamlining processes, attracting investment, and positioning Portugal as a leading technological and connectivity hub in the emerging gigabit society.
