En tant que leader vous n'avez pas 2 vies : vous n'en avez qu'une seule. Le but n'est pas d'atteindre l'équilibre mais l'harmonie. Dans un premier temps, élaborez une matrice faites un point sur les tâches vous accomplissez et devez accomplir, puis utilisez la matrice d'Eisenhower pour gérer les urgences, planifier ce qui doit l'être, mieux déléguer et avoir un leadership partagé. Enfin grâce à cette matrice vous pourrez vous débarrasser des tâches inutiles qui ne sont ni importantes, ni urgentes. Ensuite faites un point sur vos besoins pour voir lesquels ne sont pas nourris. Vous n'êtes pas réduit à votre fonction alors prenez soin de vous à travers des activités détachées de vos fonctions.

Often, leaders feel compelled to be available 24/7, but setting clear work-life boundaries not only prevents burnout but also encourages the team to do the same. Another strategy is mindful reflection—taking 5-10 minutes daily to assess what’s truly impactful versus urgent. It helps leaders prioritize and avoid spreading themselves too thin. I've tried this myself & is immensely beneficial Finally, leaders thrive when they align their work with purpose. Regularly reconnecting with their “why” can make challenges feel more meaningful & less overwhelming. Self-care starts with self-awareness!

Estoy convencida que además de delegar y programar tiempo para uno mismo, otro aspecto fundamental del autocuidado es la capacidad de decir 'no'. Como líderes, muchas veces asumimos más responsabilidades de las que realmente podemos manejar, lo que puede afectar nuestro bienestar. Establecer límites claros nos permite enfocarnos en lo realmente importante, tanto para nosotros como para nuestros equipos. También, es necesario trabajar en nuestra autoconciencia, entendiendo cuándo necesitamos descansar o recargar energías, ojo: antes de llegar al agotamiento. El autocuidado no solo se trata de hacer algo por nosotros mismos, sino también de dar el ejemplo a los demás, para que el bienestar sea parte de la cultura del equipo.

I have learned in my leadership journey that alot of overwhelm and burnout is as a result of taking on too much, lack of delegation and not knowing when to stop.. its alwasy important to listen to your body and take a break when you need to. Additionally, empower your team to be able to handle issues when you are not there as a leader, trust them to deliver on the job without looking over your shoulder. They may not be perfect at it, but as you train them, and give them the autonomy, they build confidence to handle issues on their own even in your absence.

3 key things that have helped me : 1] Delegating low impact tasks: Ask yourself - Can someone in the team handle this? Then delegate it. For example standard emails or messages in response to client queries. That helps you focus on high impact category tasks. 2] Schedule family time: Consciously include in your daily plan to spend time with your spouse and children. For example, my wife and I like to watch English thriller shows or comedy shows on OTT together at night. Or going movies or for outings with family. The time spent together helps in nurturing of relationships. 3] Reading books : on leadership, management and personal development. Keeps me evolving and motivated.
