  • We know that when our employees grow, the entire company becomes stronger and more efficient. That’s why we prioritize understanding career opportunities and goal-setting for our team through mentorship and career consultations. These initiatives help employees explore their skills, strengths, potential, and even hobbies to find the best direction for growth and build effective strategies for progress. 💬 "Sometimes, an employee finds the company and its culture suitable but sees no further opportunities to advance, and horizontal career moves don't satisfy them. In such cases, we help them explore potential opportunities within other roles in Girteka Group and consider retraining. This approach is supported and encouraged within the company. It's important to note that the main goal of career consultations is not to offer specific positions within the company but to help employees discover the direction in which they can develop their careers," explains Eglė Taraškevičiūtė-Koryznienė, our Head of Talent Acquisition and a career consultation program advisor. Career consultants are also vital for internal development: "For career consultants, this is a voluntary initiative, similar to mentorship. They are motivated by the opportunity to expand their personal skills and experience, as well as the desire to help colleagues grow and realize their potential," Eglė adds. With Generation Z actively shaping the workforce, addressing the challenges of purpose and career opportunities is crucial to keeping our teams motivated, engaged, and efficient. We believe that investing in our people is the best way to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

  • In a recent interview for Verslo žinios, our Chief Commercial Officer Mark Mulder shared insights into the changing freight market and explored innovative solutions for digitalization and pollution reduction. Mulder reflected on the challenges of 2024, particularly in the first half of the year, but noted positive trends that signal a brighter future for the industry. Our ongoing digital transformation, which leverages advanced automation to improve efficiency and resilience, was important part and the importance of sustainability was highlighted, citing the use of electric trucks, renewable fuels, and intermodal transport. These efforts are vital as the logistics sector navigates increasing demands for decarbonization while managing the pressures of operational costs and market competition. Mark now sees the freight and transport supply ratio as much better balanced: “And I would bet that this ratio will change in 2025. There are several key factors for this: firstly, a lot of capacity has been removed from the market, both on the initiative of the companies themselves and due to bankruptcies, especially in the logistics business,” he explains. “The number of bankruptcies in Europe is currently at a record high. This is due to the fact that the current rates have been very low for at least the last 24 months. So the costs have been higher than what most logistics companies could earn.” Full interview in Lithuanian is available here: https://lnkd.in/dyd9U7xY 📷: Vladimiras Ivanovas // Verslo žinios

  • Road freight carried 61.3% of total EU transport in 2023, and the push for greener solutions is stronger than ever. Green corridors are an excellent example of a multi-layered approach: a specific trade route between major ports or transport hubs where zero-emission or low-emission solutions are implemented. Learn how these pathways are impacting the future of sustainable transport in our latest newsletter issue:

Last week Jeroen Eijsink, CEO of Girteka Group, and Sandra Senuliene, Head of Sales Strategic Enterprises, proudly represented our company at the Logistics and Transport Forum 2024, organized by Verslo žinios. In a special section “Conversation with CEO” Jeroen addressed questions from Orijana Mašalė and shared his vision of sector development in Lithuania: " We need to break away from the perception of being low-cost Eastern European carriers and focus on becoming leading European logistics providers rooted in Lithuania. Our sector must have self-confidence, be proud of what we have created: high-value services powered by advanced digital solutions, achieved flexibility and scalability. Because this is wonderful and should not be hidden." And at a closing panel Sandra Senuliene Senulienė joined a discussion along with Pavel Lepilov, Ramunas Pilvelis and Vygantas Keras to discuss business partnerships, exploring how it can move from transactional relationships to long-term, value-driven collaborations. Thank you to Verslo žinios for organizing such a forward-thinking event! 📷: Vladimiras Ivanovas // Verslo žinios

  • The role of professional drivers is often overlooked, but our drivers consistently challenge outdated perceptions and demonstrate the skill, dedication, and passion they bring to the job. Meet Dzianis, one of our exceptional drivers, whose story challenges outdated stereotypes. Dzianis’s journey to Girteka has been anything but typical. With a degree in economics and experience from a bartender to steelworker’s assistant, he eventually found his place in international trucking. His time on the road allows him not only to explore Europe — from the mountains of Norway to historic castles — but also to enjoy extended quality time with his family during breaks. “Driving gives me something unique — four months a year fully dedicated to my family,” Dzianis shares. He also speaks about the importance of changing perceptions: “Many still imagine a truck driver as unkempt, overweight, and rude. But this job requires qualifications and responsibility. A pilot is seen as a hero, but drivers are just as responsible for delivering what we all rely on.” We’re proud to support professionals like Dzianis who prove that being a driver is about much more than moving goods; it’s about expertise, exploration, and redefining perceptions.

  • Starting 2025, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) will require businesses operating in the EU to disclose their environmental impact — including Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. This applies to large companies and soon to SMEs listed on EU-regulated markets, and means businesses will need to collect and analyze emissions data from your entire value chain — suppliers, transport partners, customers, and beyond. Gathering reliable data for Scope 3 emissions — the hardest to track — requires time, effort, and expertise. By being proactive today, you can simplify your data collection processes, identify emission hotspots, and develop strategies to reduce environmental footprint. This approach will help you both to provide accurate reporting and to build trust with stakeholders by demonstrating your commitment to sustainability. As a leader in sustainable logistics, we are deeply committed to reducing our environmental impact using low-emission vehicles, alternative fuels like HVO100, and intermodal transport solutions. Our fleet — averaging just two years old — includes electric vehicles (EVs), and we are continuously optimizing our operations using AI and data analytics to reduce empty mileage and improve efficiency. We also offer advanced reporting capabilities that help businesses track and report their emissions accurately and in line with CSRD and ESRS requirements. With our comprehensive data tracking and digital tools, we provide you with audit-ready emissions data, ensuring transparency and compliance.
