I had the honour of presenting the findings from the Inclusion Index for Iceland at Human Resources Day 2024—marking a significant milestone as the first comprehensive measurement of inclusion in the Icelandic labour market. The event saw unprecedented engagement, with over 1,100 attendees, 100 exhibition booths, and 300 exhibitors. It provided an excellent platform to share our insights and connect with a forward-thinking community dedicated to fostering inclusive workplaces. The Inclusion Index, based on Alda's Inclusion Pulse survey—conducted across 68 workplaces in Iceland—offers invaluable insights and benchmarks for organisations striving to assess and enhance their inclusivity. This tool is key in driving meaningful progress toward more inclusive and equitable work environments across Iceland. 📊 Key Findings: 1️⃣ Generally, marginalised people experience lower levels of inclusion than those with greater privilege. Across all chapters, their scores are consistently and significantly lower compared to those of majority groups. 2️⃣ This suggests that marginalised people face considerable barriers in the workplace and are more likely to have negative experiences of the workplace culture compared to those with greater societal privilege. 📊 Other interesting finding: 💡 Marginalised groups are 75% more likely to experience a toxic workplace culture compared to majority groups, highlighting significant gaps in workplace experiences. 💡Non-binary individuals are five times more likely to experience microaggressions than men and women, pointing to the need for focused efforts on improving inclusivity for gender-diverse individuals. 💡LGBTQ+ individuals are 50% more likely to feel that their identity negatively impacts their career development opportunities than cis-het people . You can explore the Inclusion Index results 2024 and the initial key findings here: https://lnkd.in/eFA6Sed4 In the coming months, we will continue sharing valuable data from the Inclusion Index project. The response at Human Resources Day 2024 was overwhelmingly positive, underscoring that inclusion is not just a priority—it’s essential for the future of work.  We’re excited to continue driving the conversation with data-driven insights that help foster more inclusive workplaces globally.
