📢 Last week we had the opportunity to showcase the ARTEMIs - The Power of Virtual Twins to Fight MASLD project at the Horizon Europe Health Programme Committee Meeting (Cluster 1- Health). 👉 This is a frequent meeting the European Commission holds with the representatives of the Member States on topics related to this cluster, where DG CNECT presented the European Virtual Human Twins Initiative that #ARTEMIS is contributing to. ➡️ This event brought together leaders and innovators, including members of EBRAINS, funded under the same call, to showcase how we are collectively driving advancements in the field of Virtual Human Twins (#VHT). In our presentation, we had the chance to discuss how we plan to: ✅ Articulate an informal clustering initiative among Horizon Europe Virtual Human Twins projects to strengthen collaboration with related projects such as EBRAINS. ✅ Address the research gaps in the field of VHT in Europe. ✅ Contribute to the overall European VHT ecosystem and the Digital Innovation Hub for Health (#EDITH). All these aspects were presented by our colleague Laura Muñoz Senovilla from MATICAL and Laure Saint-Aubert from BC Platforms, who lead the administrative and scientific coordination of ARTEMIS. Last week we had the opportunity to present the progress we have made so far towards making the European Federation for Cancer Images (EUCAIM) a European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (#EDIC) 🏢, upon project end. 🖥️ Our presentation wrapped up the workshop "Advancing data incorporation and interoperability for Cancer Image Europe", organized by EATRIS as part of the BioFIT Event, where our #EUCAIM colleagues showcased the collective efforts done to make EUCAIM part of a sustainable ecosystem of #interoperable digital infrastructures in #health in the European Union. 👉 Turning EUCAIM into an EDIC is the current main focus of the project's long term #sustainability efforts which we co-lead together with our partners at Euro-BioImaging and the University of Valencia. 💙 Special thanks to Nektarios L. and Sara Zullino, PhD for the great organization of the event! #innovation #healthcare #cancer #imaging

Earlier this week, four #EuroBioImaging Nodes accompanied by Claudia Pfander, Euro-BioImaging’s Strategic Business Developer, participated in a 2-day Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) Brokerage event in Brussels, designed to facilitate networking and the formation of consortia for IHI's 2025 Open Call 9. It’s the ultimate networking event, bringing together players from research institutes, industry and small and medium enterprises. The highlight of the event is a series of “pitching sessions” where people who have a project proposal pitch their idea to potential partners in order to create a consortium and turn their idea into a reality. This year, Baubak Bajoghli and Marco Andreana of Austrian BioImaging/CMI, Mario Aznar (MATICAL) representing European Federation for Cancer Images (EUCAIM) and the Valencia Population Imaging Node, Stefaan Vandenberghe from Ghent University (part of the Flanders BioImaging Node) and Theodora Stewart from King's College London (part of our UK Node) all participated in the pitching session, with project ideas as diverse as digital pathology, AI-supported immunotherapy monitoring, walk-through PET and new paradigms in biomarker discovery through metallomics - all with the aim of improving diagnosis, therapy and care in patients. We look forward to seeing new partnerships grow out of this event!  #innovation #imaging #networking

📢 Our CEO and founder Mario Aznar highlights MATICAL's role in IHI-SYNTHIA, a ground-breaking public-private initiative funded by Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) which aim is to generate novel methods and tools for #Synthetic #data generation in #healthcare.

¿Sabías que el #DigitalEUProgramme está contribuyendo a mejorar el diagnóstico del cáncer mediante inteligencia artificial? 🩺   El proyecto #EUCAIM, surge de la convocatoria "Infraestructura europea federada para datos de imágenes de cáncer " (DIGITAL-2022-CLOUD-AI-02-CANCER-IMAGE), y está implementando una infraestructura digital paneuropea para imágenes relacionadas con el cáncer y datos clínicos. Comenzó en enero de 2023 y se extenderá hasta diciembre de 2026.   #EUCAIM facilitará una detección temprana de la enfermedad y contribuirá a la reducción de errores en diagnósticos y tratamientos, gracias a: ➡️ Algoritmos avanzados que identificarán signos tempranos de cáncer en mamografías y tomografías. ➡️ Herramientas de IA que analizarán resonancias magnéticas para detectar tumores en sus primeras etapas. ➡️ Soluciones de IA que permitirán un monitoreo preciso y personalizado de la respuesta a los tratamientos.
